Thank you for sharing this video. My install was Dec. ‘21. I was one of the first to take the leap as well… they started out so beautiful… after a year and a half, costly “repairs” and repeatedly being told my hair would “mature” and grow with the loc - I had to make the difficult decision as well. I spent so much money, and for nah. The line of demarcation between the extensions and my natural hair was laughable.. and unfortunately relatable to your experience. I also had a ton of slippage, and you’re right - wash day caused my hair to be so heavy. I tapped in to your videos early in my process, and it’s funny that we’re both here - on to the next journey.

You inspired me to get Belle locs. I’m loving mine. Got the installation in May. Mine are currently a tad longer than yours and in a layered cut as well. I appreciate you showing the transition btw your hair and the extension because mine is similar and I was worried. But now I know that’s just part of the process. I had a few come out so when I go for reties my stylist makes the new extension More like my own we growth so the transition is not as noticeable. Anyway so glad I saw your first videos and happy to see the update. I’m enjoying the journey! Thanks!

I'm glad I inspired you to take the leap!!! At this length the transition from my hair to the extension isn't as noticeable. I have lost a few and put them back in too. Its definitely a part of the process

Thank you for this video. I recently stumbled on the belle micro-locs. I love the look but I’m scared to get them. I am natural right now with low density hair. My natural hair stylist is also a loctician who does not recommend adding hair. I’m so torn because I don’t want to start with short loc’s. I do appreciate this video. Love your hair.

I want to get microloc extensions but I’m trying to figure out how much hair to add so it can match my natural hair as it grows out. I don’t want to start short , I like length so much ❤

I’ve been waiting for your update lol I got the Belle microloc braids in April of last year. It is definitely a journey but I love how they look. It took some getting used to how flat the braid is but I will be trimming my as they grow as well

Ive had extremely long locs. After awhile, long hair just gets heavy. And the "allure" and "luxury" gets played out. I like shorter hair. It frames the face nicely. And i personally think it makes a statement.

Your hair would be much thicker and fluffed out if you hadn't put hair over it. Trust the journey, low density hair can do better than you think. Start over, don't over twist or pull on your roots. You're gorgeous

I've been watchin a ton of videos, as a stylist, and I just think the ends are more loose than the roots that have been locked, and the ends are more loose, which will make it appear thin...but your hair is beautiful,, I'm struggling to make the decision but is closer than not......

How did you keep the curly ends? I just cut my belle microloc braids too! I also had 18-20 inches and my hair is about your length after the cut… I’m contemplating keeping the blunt ends or taking the ends out to be curly. Im nervous that if I start taking them out they’ll come out all the way. What was your experience?

I didn't do anything to the ends when I cut them. They were blunt at first but over time they rounded back out or curled up.

I have the same concern. I’m cutting my extensions out on my 2 year anniversary but don’t want the blunt ends. I also want my locs to be all me with no extension up the braid. I had 1 slip and it came off right where my hair ends and I’m praying more of the extensions begins where my hair ends to make it easier.

Really? I was definitely wondering if I should've gotten the braids. I thought the braids would be thinner than the Twists. I'd be scares to cut the braids too lol. Mine were easy to cut because the Twists don't unravel at all and I could see a clear line of where to cut which made me comfortable.

How did you tame the frizz with the exstension hair? I have micro locs with QVR exstension hair. Its been 4 months any my added hair is soo frizzy .how do i tame it?

I use a crochet tool. Google loc crochet needle and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's perfect to pull the frizz back into the loc.

How long did it take for the hair to actually loc?

Hmm that's a good question. I can still see the twist pattern in the extension so I don't know if it's considered loc'd. I know it would take me a while to take them out because the hairs have definitely intertwined with itself. I don't know if the twist will ever disappear fully but I'd consider my hair locd at this point for the most part.

Did you ever consider micor/sisterlocs with just your own hair? And we are bday sister! My bday is 9/14 as well. I got my micorlocs I stalled on 9/7/2022...a little over 2-months locks 🔒!
