I have a specific question for you: Does your OP suffer from resetting its date and time when not connected to your phone? I'm not the only one with this issue but the number of issue reports imply that not all Osmo Pockets are effected... forum.dji.com/thread-177105-1-1.html I love the image quality of the OP but have found this issue to be very inconvenient when trying to organise and sync clips with external audio sources. Have you noticed the same behaviour when the OP is not connected to your phone?

I don't think that a new one will be coming out anytime soon. 1 year is very short turnover cycle for such product, especially when it was basically completed only 3 months ago via FW update.

This is my favorite camera at the moment. It provides awesome quality of videos with such a small size. I have iPhone 11 and FeiyuTech Vlog Pocket but I realize that in 95% of cases I don't want to carry this setup with me. But DJI OSMO Pocket is always in my pocket. The most important things you should know about: 1) use D-Cinelike profile. It requires color grading but it is worth using. The problem is that the Normal profile blows out highlights a lot. If you use expo correction it won't solve the problem because ultimately you will have too dark low light parts of your video. When I bought OSMO Pocket in 2019 I was frustrated of blown out sky and clouds because I got used to iPhone's Smart HDR. But than I started using D-Cinelike profile and correct videos a bit in FinalCut Pro and they look awesome. 2) do buy a controller wheel. You won't regret the money spent. Personally I like to move camera vertically in the Tilt locked mode. 3) buy a cheap tripod mount. I love shooting motion lapses using the tripod. P.S. I like your content and have just subscribed!

Hiya....excellent video ...in the osmopocket I know you can do a photo timelapse from point a to point b, all setup within the camera. Is it possible to do similar but shoot video? i.e. select point a and point b, a time duration from a to b, then shoot regular 4k video instead of a series of photos? Thanks in advance.

I wish there was a bracket so it could be attached to the side of my DSLR. That way I could take a few clips while using my camera. I've seen the same technique used by Taylor Jackson but he used the latest GoPro on the hot-shoe at a wedding to get a gimbal like clip following the bride and groom.

Finally, a good stabilized video device better than camcorders. For anyone who films in not perfect light, this is a godsend. No video camera can do it without a gimbal no matter how good the electronic stabilization is. I have been avoiding the Pocket because of all the GoPro updates and mirrorless cameras, but none of those are covenient to use in mixed lighting. This is almost the holy grail of travel video cameras. One thing nobody mentions is the weight or lack of it. Try to clip a GoPro to your shirt or even have it in your jacket pocket.

hey anyone who owns a Osmo pocket, can you connect a mic to your phone like a rode mic or something else and have the osmo use that for recordings or livestreaming? id like the ability to charge the osmo pocket while I live stream and the gimble is a super awesome feature that id like to keep. if there is maybe a 3rd party program that supports that feature might be nice that also allows the external mic to be used from the phone? I dont wanna purchase it without knowing my options. thanks!

Interesting. We have liked it quite a bit but now with the gopro 8, we find we don't use it as much. I just find the osmo footage in any kind of low light to be so grainy, it's worse than a phone. And a nuisance to have to carry around the wheel or other adaptors. I want to continue loving but I may just use the gopro 8 now with its stabilization and ultra-crisp footage

Osmo Pocket F2 lens lets in twice as much light as the GoPro and according to my tests, it is much better in the low light.

Anyone have issues with the audio when shooting in 4k? For every (apx) 5mins off footage I get a 1 sec audio drop at the end. This is noticeable during playback of at long uninterrupted shot.

Hybrid, at 01:58, was that out of the camera or after grading? Either way, the result is stunning. My current Garmin Virb Ultra 30, is shot flat and then graded. But the result does not come close to what I see at 01:58. Thanks for the clip.

I’ve been enjoying this camera. it’s not perfect and yea, you have to buy a bunch of extras too, that said, it’s very good. the video footage is better than my old DSLR and iphone11 imo. log-ish is really good to grade afterwards

I think if you need something that can be pocketed this is perfect compared to something like a GoPro. I guess after seeing some of this footage, I can understand it's price point (only slightly cheaper than a Hero 8 Black, but more portable as you'd have to buy a handle or gimbal for the Hero).

With F2 and 1/2.3" sensor it is still the best among comparable cameras. You can't have gimbal, low light and pocket size at the same time.
