How can something as big as a truck or SUV be so easilly shipped out of the country without being checked by the border agency. I mean it's not like someone put them in a pocket and leaves Canada. I mean why is the CBSA able to scan and check outgoing luggages in airports and other points of entry but they can't check containers for stolen cars? Relying on insurance to pay for stolen cars is not a solution because it will drive up the insurance price for everyone

In canada, you cannot protect yourself, you family or your property. If you hurt a thief or someone who tries to hurt you or family in your own home, you will be charged. Worst part, if you know who stole your vehicle, you know where is it located, you cannot retrieve it, and the police wont retrieve it for you as well. Warrant is also not easy to get. If vehicle owners start putting multiple Apple Air Tags in many hidden spots in their cars then they can easily track them when the car gets stolen. Another way to deter thieves from stealing your key fob signal is to put them in faraday pouches/boxes when you get home. Both are inexpensive and effective.
@europeanlegend9347

Except air tags are useless. They can be disabled by anyone with an iphone and now even android. Also, police won't do anything about your vehicle even if you know where it is. Whether that's with an air tag or built in gps that most newer cars come with these days. Friend of mine tracked down their car with the built in gps, notified authorities and they couldn't do anything because the vehicle was on private property and they'd need a warrant to go retrieve it. apparently seeing the vehicle on a gps tracker isn't enough evidence to break their door down and retrieve $50k + in property without a warrant.... the world we live in is wild.

@@europeanlegend9347 you have to disable the speaker and hide a few of them in places hard to get to. is it a fool proof solution? maybe not but gives you hopefully enough time to track where your vehicle is. if you're lucky enough to see it parked outside then maybe you can alert police nearby and have them escort you so you and unlock it and drive it off the thieves' location.

My question is what happens after, do you get your car replaced? Your money back? I wonder because the guy said he worked hard for it before the end, meaning he did not get anything. Anyone?

Sooooooo an insurance company will write a vehicle off for a 1500.00 crash damage estimate yet it costs almost 6k to ship a vehicle back from Africa and you know since they have paid out the insurance company is the actual owner of that car and is willing to ship it back ? This doesn’t make sense. 😂

My question is how are they getting out of Canada are the ports really that corrupt it's not like they're a tiny thing they take up a whole container the shipping companies that are shipping these should be made to pay to return them back to Canada

At the price manufacturers are getting, one might expect better. Since the proliferation of the SUV sales, profits within the car business have ballooned. Maybe it’s time for a shift back to a more modest mode of transportation - $80k+ for a truck? Crazy.
