$10,000 Dream Truck Makeover!

In todays video I put 10k worth of truck parts on my truck.. and if you don't believe me go check my bank account.

While at first I would agree with you @juliothunderbird943, after watching the video over I see at around the 1:47 time of the video there are no weird looking red tubes in the engine bay. Fast forward to around the 3:50 timer of the video I start to see those red tubes in the engine bay and a rectangular silver thing in front of the radiator, that said Banks on it. So it got me thinking…what did this kid really pay for all of these parts. So I started to do a little investigation and here is what I came up with. 35x12.50x22 Toyo Open Country MT around $2,600.00 installed at the local Firestone Dealer 22x12 Hostile Wheels $2,450.00 average price online (with free shipping of course) Headlights around $500.00 don’t know exactly what brand but looks like they’re a solid set. Window tint, which he never mentions in the video, but in the beginning of the video it has none, at the end it’s all tinted…let’s say an average of $500.00 Cab lights, looks like Recon cab lights so another $250.00 Last but not least, that rectangular thing with the red tubes. After looking online, that is a Banks intercooler, that goes for about $1,900.00 online. In conclusion all these items only add up to $8,150.00 minus tax, looks like the boy is from NC where there is a 4.75% sales tax bringing his grand total to $8,537.12 Now I’m sure this kid rounded up to say 10k in his thumbnail, because let’s be honest saying I just put $8,537.12 in parts on my dream truck, just doesn’t roll off the tongue very well, now I try to be a honest by the book human being, but I don’t think I’ll be reaching out to the KZbin police on this one

Colby, I am a Vietnam Era Vet' and I resurrected, rebuilt, restored and refurbished a 1994 F250 4x4 and now she is my daily driver. Best truck ever built. I would not trade her for a new one!!!! Mine is raven black and I left her stock except for the wheels and Toyo Tires. She carries a ton each week of chicken feed and she frequently sees 4WD here on the farm.

Well if you watched the video and used some common sense you would also know I put a new windshield on it got it tinted I put new headlights in it, I put cablights on it, I got new wheels as well as new tires. At the end of the day it’s my truck and it looks completely different when I bought it. S&B body mounts were definitely one of the mods I was most satisfied with on my own 7.3. I'd highly recommend them for guys looking to freshen up their trucks... then get wheels lol.

With the remaining $1,500 or so, you can get a brand new fuel bowl instead of rebuilding the one that’s in the truck and you can get the two lugnuts you’re missing on the passenger rear wheel. The truck does look good though. Do you have an EGT gauge? If so, have you noticed lower EGT’s with the intercooler installed?

The cab is going to leak, no matter how many I have seen if its not factory your going to end up taking those cab lights off, all the puddy or sealer will not stop it. But hey a learning experience. It might not leak right now but give it some time shes gonna be like a faucet after a couple years. Speaking out of many experiences of putting cab lights on trucks that never came with them.
