I'm not sure why replace the bushings at all at this point, A) the hole is wallowed out let it just eat it, as the repair cost would be the same but you get another season off of it? B) drill the hole out (make it round) and just insert a segment of pipe and place the bushing inside of that? -- I guess I don't see the real use for the bushing repair....It doesn't seem like precision is that big of a deal on the digger .

You want the shanks to NOT wiggle around the bigger rooted weeds. Tight shanks do a MUCH better job of getting the early season weeds. When in a tillage crop system, it works best to try to get the first spring flush of weeds. The ones you miss at planting time, get too big to kill easily when the next flush comes. Ragweed is especially annoying.

I am simply blown away by how much you know about machinery repair. I have been watching your videos and am amazed by your knowledge on how to fix things. I am guessing your age at 20 - how did you learn so much and be so young? Your dad is super chill and laid back.

You should look into a local machine shop. See what it would cost to sleeve the arms so the bushings will fit. They should be able to set up a jig to do them in mass.

XD Random labor is the bulk of the bill.We run 8330,8430 and 8220. So around 14yrs old, but they are all paid for so that’s nice. Unfortunately they all have around 8000 hrs so about time to upgrade

All repair parts are very expensive, but then the price of new equipment is outrageous. Farm machinery has far out paced the general inflation rate.

Don't buy new standards where that bushing is loose I could' not see whether this was a steel bushing or oil lite which is a bronze bushing pressure filled w/oil.Bushings what ever material they are come in all sizes and shapes and all id's and od's and lengths. All you would have to do is make a fixture not fancy to hod the part square w/the world run a core drill through the hole for the next size bushing w/ a larger od.You are not going to find anybody in a small town who can tell you whats available you will need to go to a reputable bearing house to find somebody who can read the books and help you.

If you took them to a machine shop they would bore them out perfectly round. Then you could put the busings in and -if you took the time to properly maintain the equipment - last a long time. Pressing new bushings into hols which are out of round or otherwise compromised, is useless. a waste of money. Don't those thing have lubrication so they don't wear so much??

I couldn't figure out why Dougo was so unhappy then remembered how much this cost. Wouldn't make me happy either. Seems like most tilling if needed is done with these rippers. Not sure how much hp is needed for an 18ft wide harrow but has to be quite a bit of diesel per day. I would think a few hit rocks too.
