This song is so infectious and I have no idea why I love it so much other than that’s the power of NM and the maniacs. Robert Buck was one strange dude who never played same guitar part the same way twice. So damn good!

Wow! Holy f#ck! Buck on guitar is absolutely mind blowing. His whole aura is just a F you to what guitarist are to look like and act on stage. He’s amazing. Natalie is haunting. One of my favorite bands. Thank you for sharing this.

The Natalie Merchant "dance " was always charming to see in the the 1980's and 90's

As some smart "critic" of a a online blog, said that 'thankfully'' there were no more "Planned obsolescence" type in next 10,000 Maniacs albums Gladly I would listen this 30 times than 30 seconds of horrid today's reggaeton and such willingly

The lyrics here are different from those on Hope Chest. Damn, can't make out her lyrics. N E 1 know?
@thiscorrosion900 Жыл бұрын
They're a lot more concise here than on Planned Obsolescence (Hope Chest, which is the orig. version of the song). They should be online the full lyrics for this version. Here are someone's version of the lyrics: Love, breaks apart is a myth of human kindness Love, breaks apart is amyth of human kindness Love, breaks apart is a myth of human kindness Panic in the worried night with the tempting, rises Panic in the worried night with the tempting, rises Panic in the worried night the tempting rises No doubt that she'd desire blind faith in all surmises No doubt that she'd desire blind faith in all surmises No doubt that she'd deny blind faith in half-surmises Because Any modern man can see that Any modern man can see that Piety obsolete Faith obsolete Mysticism obsolete Prophetic vision obsolete Any modern man can see that Any modern mad can see that Love, breaks apart is a myth of human kindness Love, breaks apart is a myth of human kindness Love, breaks apart is a myth of human kindness Panic in the worried night with the tempting, rises Panic in the worried night with the tempting, rises Panic in the worried night the tempting rises No doubt that she'd desire blind faith in all surmises No doubt that she'd desire blind faith in all surmises No doubt that she'd deny blind faith in half-surmises Because Any modern man can see that Any modern man can see that Piety obsolete Faith obsolete Mysticism obsolete Prophetic vision obsolete Any modern man can see that Any modern mad can see that

Natalie quickly outgrew the Maniacs. Witness Buck's endless and pointless solos. They were lucky to have her as their creative heart and soul (read meal ticket) for 12 years.
