10,000 Subscriber Special - The History of SMT Mainline

The channel recently crossed 10,000 subscribers and in celebration I decided to put together a timeline of the channel's history. I never imagined when this channel was created that it would turn into what it is today and I want to thank you all for your support!

Harrison... what struck me most was your passion for the Hobby, mixed with a humility. Your comment about the model railroad community is right on. It is very true as well of railroad people. Railroaders are a very big family, taking care of one another in times of need, working to keep the industry that won the west and linked two coasts strong and moving. Congratulations on seeing a vision and for being that person that others see in you. Your next trip to Florida, my wife and I would be happy to have you and your family for dinner. I may have been here for a short time (around 7k) but I became very fond of your channel. All I did was look up “Ho model train restorations” and I ended up searching it again because I really enjoyed the cut of your jib and your channel has provided me with entertainment and an escape from my sister for a while now and I’m glad I can say I was here before your Channel blew up. I also really enjoy the live streams and joining in with everyone else it’s like I have a second family I can talk trains to. It’s also really nice how you connect with your fans on live streams, your instagram and the comments section. Watching this again late on a Saturday night (7/11/20), I have to sat that although I am a "late comer" to the channel, it has become my favorite KZbin channel. It makes me excited about trains once again, and it's fabulous to see a young person get involved in the hobby. After all, we "old guys" aren't going to be around forever. Re-watching your earlier vids and having a blast . This one especially . You can see you had the " Right Stuff " right off the bat ( you have probably seen that movie , but if not , worth a shot ) . The new curtains look really good and options for back-lighting might be interesting. This channel gave me hope after I got scammed on ebay, I bought a bachmann e60cp they said ran like new and was never out of box... when it got to me I put it on the track and heard the clicking of split gears and had no traction tires, after watching a few of your videos I took apart the truck to repair, clean and lube my engine, I repaired the split gear with super glue and lube the engine now that 30 year old e60 runs like a charm.. i watch this channel basically every day.

Hi Harrison, I am from Sri Lanka and just about to be 74 years. I have been watching your Utube channel SMT Mainline and have enjoyed every moment of what you present. I had started to build my lay out in April 2021 and decided to have it all on DCC. My layout is in the shape of an "L" with two ends of having a radius of 32 inches. Its been very challenging and earning many problem solving offf Utube tutorials. I am mechanically minded and have been doing projects of converting one or two old Hornby OO 3 rail locomotives to run on two rail system. It was frustrating🤣 But I have invested over the years in Flexi track and accessories. Sri Lanka has many problems of foreign exchange etc. So for landscaping I have been making my own flocking and using natural stuff like stones, sand and granite . I have to congratulate you as a young positive person that rewarded you to receive 10,000 subscribers in 2020. I loved your timeline presentation.

Congrats on 10k subs I really enjoy the channel I'm a O gauge modeler but I used to be heavy into HO scale trains I still have a lot of HO trains,track and accessories your channel kinda resparked a interest back to HO at least the restoration end of it I have learned a lot from your repairs just recently tore down my Lionel layout going to build another O gauge I have my own KZbin channel building model kits and some train vids I may expand to more trains as well thanks SMT mainlines for the inspiration this is the worlds greatest hobby
