Great video as always. I recommend that you do plumb the cooling lines into the turbo, it could double the life of turbo bearing.

OR, machine the boss on the flexplate to move it closer to the block and space the starter away the same amount, then you can retain a full head on the flywheel bolts. I had the same issue with the RE5 behind the TD42. The small head bolts suck.

I flooded my patrol in a bog hole once, it destroyed the tcm by the kick panel. Had to get a 2nd hand one to replace it, so i moved it to on top of the glove box. Do you think ur expensive tcm is to close for comfort if u ever find ur self stuck? Nice video looking great.

Man, if it has coolant ins and outs on the turbo you should definitely run them to extend the life of the turbo

by thickness of plate it looks possible to recess holes on the the plate with a milling machine.

crane in the tunnel is probably the best way anyways if your not doing this kind of job on a lift, its my favourite way to remove a broken r380 from a discovery lol

Hey mate I’m regards to the bolts on the back of that plate could you not have recessed the plate rather than cutting down the bolt heads? Or maybe used the same tensile strength bolts similar to the adapter plate and then counter sunk them in?

We assessed everything with the machine shops and they all said I’d get away with the bolts! They are the cheapest part if it didn’t work!
