Although i agree with you, i think there will be several people that will still run Tyr's in M+ so I figured i would at least discuss it so folks know how it works and how to best utilize it. I think it will take a little while before the greater Holy Paladin population will switch to the hybrid build and move out of Tyr's. Super curious to see how things progress though.

Aoe healing requires a bit of knowledge of the dungeon as well as some setup with your glimmers. Divine toll and holy prism are excellent aoe heals if done correctly, as well as proper use of day break. Do you think a video explaining aoe healing on a holy Paladin would be of interest?

Hey, cool guide! I didnt see wings in the cds, i heard you just use in on cd, wanted to confirm this. I made a pally last week and am going to take it into m+ tomorrow, watched a lot of your content over the last few days and it really helped me. One thing I wanted to maybe request is if you could make a kinda pov commentary video of a high key next season where you show the gameplay and go over what you use when. i havent seen anything like this on youtube and it would help me a lot to get a feel for what to press when and how to use cds. Hey man! Thanks for the feedback and questions. Yes you are correct, wings is also a good CD but one that is more so used for dealing damage than your healing. That's not to say you can use it to supe up your healing as well :) Oh 100% you can count on me doing that. I'm running a bunch of keys this entire week to see how how i can do. I will be doing a healing PoV video of all of the dungeons and really focusing on the healing perspective of the dungeons.

@@ValiathGaming yea I was surprised how fast I shot up. Only started last Monday and have had two vaults. Definitely a lot easier than s1. I was watching you back then too, I think. Azure vaults and ruby life was ruuuuff! Feels like subsequent seasons in an expac are always easier. My vault was kind to me today. Got a 480 chest to replace my 432 or so one. Went from 0 set bonus to 4, and 459 to 468 ilv. Ready to roll! I have also been playing with Argent Crusader wings. Having a quick burst heal on a min cd for big burst heals on big boss aoe timers feels too good to pass up.

Hello! No not a macro, although I suppose you can probably make it a macro. What I mean is you never use one without the other, so you always want to combine them. First hit tyrs then hand of divinity for the instant holy light casts so you can extend the tyrs hot immediately.

Hello! Yes indeed it can! You can use the macro I have in the description or you can just use the good old traditional way as well. Whichever way you chose to use it, it does either damage or healing depending on your target and it will also applies glimmers to those same targets.

Good video! My only question is why is beacon of light so popular for all pally builds I see and nobody talks about beacon of virtue? I use that talent for M+ and love it. I've tried the beacon of light and just can't see the impact of it

Thank you! the good thing with beacon of faith is that 2/5th of your group will be automatically healed from everything you do. Your tank should not need too much healing to begin with, that leaves healing yourself and one other person and the rest of the group would either be healed at the same time or doesn't need it to begin with. Problem with virtue is that if it is on CD when you need it, your aoe healing suffers substantially and it is also a mana expensive spell. This tier, mana is super important and the last thing you want happening is running out of mana all the time that requires you to slow down the run for you to sit down and drink.

Hi could you tell me how the holy prism and divine toll macros work exactly? I didn't really get that in the video.

Hello! Absolutely I can do that. The macro for holy prism allows you to cast holy prism when you mouse over your target. There are two choices here, 1) you mouse over and cast the spell on a friendly player which will do direct healing to that player but then that player will also shoot out beams of light that will hit enemies doing damage. This is the damage dealing way of using holy prism. 2) you mouse over and cast holy prism on an enemy which will do direct damage to the enemy but will also cause the enemy to reflect back beams of light to your party members doing healing. This is the healing way of using holy prism. The macro for divine toll works the same way, when you mouse over and cast divine toll on a friendly player, it will do direct healing to your party member as well as apply glimmers to all of them. If you mouse over and cast it on an enemy, it will do damage and apply glimmers to the enemy units instead. For both of these spells you have a decision to make, are you looking to do damage or are you looking to do healing? Both require you to use the spells in a certain way and the mouse over macros make it easier for you to cast the spells on the units you want to. I hope that helps :)

Thanks for letting me know, that was a old macro I had and I have changed the macro in the description, cant do anything about the one in the vid :( Divine shield is a personal defensive, hence I did not see the need to include it, you are correct with lay on hands, completely forgot that one. Fortunately, i think most holy paladins are well aware of what it is and how to use it :)

I’m sorry you aren’t liking it man. WoG is weaker than the FoL but it is better than before. It is the best use of holy power we have for healing, if you don’t need healing use holy power for dps instead. It for sure feels a bit off right now, I’m hoping blizzard reverts some of the nerfs to get us back to at least somewhat close to the feel we had last season. Not saying buff is to the moon, but something to make it feel less clunky

I played hpal since legion and i think this is the worst version of the class since then. I admit the freshly remade hpal was broken but the first nerfed iteration was balanced in my opinion. They just nerfed it too much that it just lacks the output to enjoy PVE content with the class

Yeah WoG got a small buff, but this season, all healers' main heal casts like flash of light and holy light got buffed by 40% which is insane. So it's not that WoG is bad, it's that blizz clearly wanted healers to use their old school, bread and butter heals more often

Generally it would be cloth wearers as they will be taking more damage than most. Shamans are also a good target. Pop both of them on cloth wearers as you enter then switch as the dungeon progresses if need be :)

Hello! I usually use it on the highest DPS in the groups so long as they ARE NOT a pet class. Rogues, demon hunters, and mages are generally pretty good targets. I use this weakaura from ellesmere which is very helpful. wago.io/summerHelper It will call out and provide you with a visual direction on who is best to use it on at that moment. It is important to use it on CD and not hold it for too long also so you can cycle through the seasons.

@ValiathGaming hey hey. Thanks for that. The WA for Summer works about one time per 5man. And maybe 5 times during a raid. I got rid of it cause I feel it doesn't work. I just use on rogue or mage, really. I feel cool down should be used on me.

@@Michaelkayslay hey! The weakaura I shared was for ONLY the Summer cycle, not the other ones. Below is a good guideline for the seasons it cycles through. Summer - put on DPS Fall (CD reduction) - either DPS or yourself depending on situation Spring (healing) - either on yourself to do more healing or on a target that needs extra healing Winter (mana) - on yourself. Hope that helps :)

​@@Brainman234 I think it is just a different playstyle but it does feel more clunky than before. It's an old design philosophy, if you are ranged you cast if you are melee, you have instant spells most of the time. Now as a holy paladin you have to cast in melee. It means you could receive more damage from mobs/ environment / etc, but pally's defensive were also nerfed making it even less forgiving to cast in melee. It was overturned for sure, but I think they went a bit over the line with nerfs. Still okay in terms of you can play it, but the fun aspect of being this holy warrior dishing out decent damage and healing was destroyed. Hpally was not the healer w the most HPS/ DPS but a great mix with a shit ton of utility.

Hey man! I’m a bit torn around this topic. I love pushing out healing and getting the group through difficult encounters, but at the same time I do like the variety and a bit more depth doing some dps also provides. In all honesty, healer dps really only matters once you get to much higher key levels.

​@ValiathGaming yea I like the option to being able to help the group via damage when healing is taken care of. As you gear and you don't increase the challenge by going up a tier in raids or increasing your key in m+, healing becomes less important as everyone kills stuff faster and becomes more tanky. I think it's appropriate to allow healers do damage when there's not much damage going out. I prefer having to intelligently choose when to expend resources and time to do damage instead of just passively doing damage.

@@Ditronus. I dont mind the healers doing dmg when healing is not needed. What im not liking is the whole play style of doing dmg TO heal. Disc, Holypala and Mistweaver etc. Yes you don't have to do dmg but your healing will be lacking if you don't. Resto druid, Holy priest, Resto shaman, All have a heal or dmg mode. Meaning you either heal people or you dmg enemies not both. They dont do deal dmg to heal better like Paladin or Mistweaver need to. Disc is probably the only healer that is 100% forced to deal dmg to heal effectively. I have Played HolyPaladin since BC and yes its been fun for the most part but these last 3 expansions its gotten boring and i have started loving the HolyPriest playstyle more and more.

Hello! The new playstyle with flash of light should suite you quite well then! It doesn't really require you to do damage in order to heal and whats even better is that is has incredibly high throughput if played well. The DPS to heal playstyle is very different and for sure not for everyone. I think the addition of this new option allows players to chose which style they want to play which to me is just a good thing.

im just using a normal holy build. just feels like I'm not actually healing. last season it wasn't bad at all. I'm 441 atm. but man idk what it is. hard casting, damage healing, all of it feels like I'm 40ilvl lower than I am. Sry for the late response, I'm in the middle of moving which is not fun. Stick with the old build if that works for you. I think once you get higher ilvl as well as at least your 2 piece set bonus its worth trying gout the new hybrid build. Its really powerful, even if it is a bit different.

That talent build is NOT a good choice. you want tyr's and the talent to extend. this build is too focused on trying to get your hard casts off, which unless you are over 40% haste is not worth it at all. You will struggle A LOT using this build. you still want to focus holy shocks, and using flash of light when the proc comes up. using holy light ONLY when you have hand of divinity on. If you cast flash of light on proc and holy shock in-between you should never run out of abilities as long as your CD management is on point. Also the group wide dmg that's in the season 3 dungeon pool is too great not to be using try's

Hey man, I respectfully disagree with you and I think the general community would agree with me as well. Tyrs is only used in raids now considering the changes to our spells and not used in m+ for various reasons. The build I presented is NOT focused on only doing hard casted spells, it is built to include them into the fold as not doing some would be ignoring some very powerful tools at our disposal. Looking at high tier holy Paladin runs so far this season show that the majority of them dropped tyrs and picked up the hybrid build instead. In the end, whatever works for you is what you should play, I only presented what is generally agreed upon to be the go to spec this season.

Idk , I tried playing without Tyr and it doesn't work for me , it's way too strong , it stabilises your party during have aoe damage and is fantastic for rot dmg . Having hots as a spot reactive healer is a massive thing .

I don’t find that I needs tyrs in m+ currently but I also got giga lucky and got my 4 piece in one normal raid full clear. I think once ilvls start going up and folks get more comfortable with the dungeon, tyrs will fall to the wayside for most in favor of empowering our casted spells.

@@ValiathGaming see that's the biggest issue...not many people.have a 4 piece bonus with reverb acting like Tyr. That should be known in your video that this build requires the set bonus. Also as of yesterday the best holy Paladin running m+ was using tyr's. There's always going to be some variations I realize, but in general this build in your video makes life a struggle to heal anything. I finished last season just over 3.5k for m+ I'm very familiar with holy paladins and currently without a set bonus that builds output is weak. It's misleading information. At the very least you should be showing actual gameplay of the build so people can see how you play the build so you can reinforce what info you've put out to the world. I'm testing a variety of builds right now, including my own hybrid, which seems to have very good throughput and is topping around 170-190k HPS at ilvl 458. This is my perspective from playing the builds for some time now. This is just a cookie cutter build the community theory crafted.

You are correct that the 4 piece does a lot of lifting this tier but I had no problems running 16+- without it as well. Tyrs is a fantastic CD and is for sure something that can be used in m+ content regardless of your gear, I just think there are more powerful talent outs there considering the changes to our casted spells. Again, love the input and the fact that others have different opinions is what makes this game fun most of the time and we can get together and have a good discussion. Both our opinions and builds are viable alternatives, it comes down to preference in the end.

HPS is not always what is important in a raid environment, but I have cleared normal and am 6/9 heroic already and seen first hand what a holy Paladin can do, and it is very strong indeed. The 3% damage reduction from devotion aura by itself is massive and is not considered or factored into any HPS figures. For practically every new raid tier, Holy Paladins have had a spot in all mythic progression comps, and thats not by accident.
