Hi, I purchased one of these last year in December and it was working fine up until it was turned off manually, never to turn on again. I checked the power, ground, fuses everything and still couldn't get it to power on. I've contacted sygav will little response as well. Any thoughts on what I can do? Joshua Shuman if you have Rockford fosgate you need to buy one that specifies it will work for it. The harnesses are different. The unit has been working just fine.

Hey Nico, I've got a 2013 evo x that runs Tephra V2. I have dual tune on 98 and E85. The button that was assigned to switch the tune is holding the cruise control button down for a few seconds. Couple of questions if you don't mind shedding some light on. - When switching the headunit, will it screw up the button assignments ? - Can you even assign the cruise control buttons to this head unit ? Just asking in case it's done accidentally. - The button you have assigned to change tracks, if you hold down the button, does it do a seek within the song instead of jumping tracks (fast forwarding within the song) ? The factory button does this. I'm really keen on this headunit. Looks really good.. Thanks

Chris I'm not entirely sure about the cruise control button. I would think that has no connection to the unit for any reassigning to the button. I've never try that. I think you can also set up he buttons to push it down for a couple seconds to fast forward and stuff like that.

Thanks for the reply mate. I just ordered this head unit off ebay. There's a few around but the one got runs Android 5.1.1. I was wondering what version have you got and have you tried upgrading the OS to version 6.0 ? Also have u tried connecting a modem with a sim card ?

Chris awesome! You'll love it. As far as the upgrade, I was told once by the manufacturer that you can't upgrade. The biggest differences between them is some hardware pieces. I'll be hopefully getting my hands on the 6, so I'll post a video once that happens.

great videos man i have a few questions i just got mine today but didn't have enough time to modify it after i installed it but i already noticed some difficulties sort of maybe not.First thing mine didn't have a headphone connection but there was a lil hole next to the pin connectors which i plugged it into but i didn't test the mic yet,second how can i check for updates? i need to check first thing first so i know for that point im clear,On the steering wheels buttons i didn't get the buttons on the display only got cancel or refresh but nothing came up when i hit refresh,also i tried going into devise settings and it asked for a pin which i got wrong on every default pin i can think of like 1234,0000,1234567890 and nothing wrong pin everytime,the boost gauge i was able to add it but it didn't read my boost it was an empty gauge.I will appreciate your help very much if it wont put you out your way even tho ur videos helped more then enough so far and i thank u for that 🤓👍🏽

I was thinking of buying this for my lancer. I already have the pre-installed reversing camera in my car. When I put it into reverse, the sat nav that is already pre installed automatically switches the screen to the camera. Does this do the same thing? or do you have select the camera manually?

BlueScream EvoX yes. I also have the same phone. No issues whatsoever. You can use the mirroring app to see whatever you have on your phone or you can just download the app to the unit and share your internet with it.

Hey, (also a final edition owner btw) I was wondering how you got the AFR readout since the car doesn't send those values to the ECU unless you wired it in yourself, or are you just using the O2 sensor, because if so those readings would not be accurate

To be honest with you. It's been working perfectly. I'll be installing a back up camera as well some time soon and give it a full use. Sound quality is great and options for this thing seems endless since you can download any apps. Quality is great, the screen is solid, not like cheap liquid kind of screen. @Nico and @Alex I have this problem also. The unit connects to my phone over bluetooth with no problems. The unit uses the internet over wifi hotspot on my phone with no problems. When I try to access the internet, or even the Google Play store, with the unit connected to my home wifi, I get no internet. The unit says it is connected to the wifi. I also have trouble connecting to the OBDII sensor. I scan for the sensor using bluetooth, but it doesn't even come up as an available device. NIco, were your friends able to solve their problem?

Trevor Wilson I don’t have the RF system in my car, I had the regular stereo. The sound quality of this android is definitely better than stock. However the stock speakers are garbage, and I quickly realized it needed something better, so I changed all four speakers, front tweeters, added a sub and amp. I personally love the sound, but also I’m not the type of person that drives around with some loud music, so to me is perfect. Not to mention how bad the Evo’s trunk and quarter panels rattle when the bass is high. Hope this helps brother 👍🏼

I too have a 2009 Lancer EX GCC Spec. I have already installed the previous version of this unit which is an 8 Inch Android 4.4 one with DVD bay. I'm thinking of upgrading mine to this new version, now they ship this 10.2 with Android 5. Nick, did your car come with the stock Rockford Fosgate Amplifier? Did you have to install the Can Bus Decoder? And After I installed my 8 inch unit, the sound quality dropped. I wasn't getting the deep bass I used to get from the stock stereo. Also I couldn't fully use the fader to rear speakers and it goes silent, seems like they join the front output from the unit together and given the input to front and rear channels on the Amp. Nick, how was the quality of sound after installation? Thanks

+Praveen Welagedara in my case, the sound improved, but then again I didn't have Rockford Fosgate package in my car. I have already upgraded the stock speakers to some alpines and then I noticed that my bass was a little low. What I did is, I downloaded a music player app called Poweramp and it has an amazing equalizer and that made the music sound amazing!

first pair the Bluetooth OBD to the unit by going to bluetooth app, after that go to torque app and in settings make sure you select the obd you're using. I'll try to see if I can do a quick video sometime soon.

Raphael Gibbs I'm not so sure man, but I remember them giving me steps for how to update the firmware. As far as the applications, they will update just like an iPhone or android whenever you connect the unit to the internet. Also, I know there is already some hacks out there for this unit, so you can completely change the looks and unlock other stuff. I'm just don't have the need or the time to do anything like that.

Hi Nico, do you still have access to all the settings the original touchscreen has? On my Evo I can for example adjust what units I want everything displayed in, how dark it has to be for the lights to turn on, if I want the side mirrors to automatically bend in when turning off the car, etc. I would love to make the change to this android unit but I'm afraid of losing the stock options..

Alright, that's a shame.. My main concern is being able to change units because unplugging the battery for a while makes these settings reset and it would be very annoying if I had to change back and forth every time that happened. Mine is a 08 UK version with the old touchscreen (Newer Evos has a different one) and the Rockford fosgate system so I guess that's why they're different then.

Zerbert_The_Zuma no, there is no aux on this unit. It has two USBs for a player, or for a hard drive with music and videos or you can use the memory card in the front of it. You can connect it via Bluetooth as well.

Exactly! you'll need internet only for those things. I bought my unit from ebay from Sygav which are the manufactures. The link is on the description of the video. Check out my other videos about it as well. I'll soon be doing another review and explain a little about the rear view camera.

I believe you can download the Sirius app. This is basically a tablet, so anything that is available in the play store, you can install and use.

Sound quality is definitely better than stock. However, I would recommend you replacing the speakers too. When I removed mine I was in shock!! The OEM speakers are only 15w. Very lame in my opinion

Yes, you can turn on the hot spot on your phone and share the internet. Also the unit comes with an app to mirror whatever you see on your phone, so you could also try doing that.
