Old radio was connected by two connectors (a power and another one), none of them are RCA. The new head unit includes AV cables with RCA for video out, reverse camera in, and 4 pcs audio out to speakers. How do you solved this situation? I do not see what happend exactly around 18:35. BTW I think the ground wire is for safety bypass. If you don't ground it, you won't be able to watch videos while driving.

Awesome! I personally love it man! As far as the music playing, I'm not completely sure. I'm an iPhone user, so I'm still learning about a lot of the features. I think you should be just fine since it's an android unit and you have to sign up with your account, so all of your apps should show up. Let me know once you install it and how that went.

terrorsz75 honestly, it was very hard for me man. I had to make a hole from the inside of the trunk to the the wire through and fishing for that wire was a pain. It's not an impossible task, just a matter of being patient and taking your time. Once you get the wire through the trunk, it's easy and just send the wire along the side of the car under those plastic trims where you step on.

I would say just plug them in the back of the unit even if you're not going to connect anything extra. Just zip tie them all, so there wont be any rattle from loose wires.

Great Work my friend. Ordered one in Australia, going to use this guide as soon I get delivery. Only thing I'm missing is where does the USB goes? My car stereo already have usb port which is in the glove box panel on the passenger side. So am I use to just use that one or do I need to take the old one out and put the new one in just make it more neat?

Yes, if you want to make it more neat then yes you will have to do that. I just let them sit in my glovebox since I'm using the micro sd memory full of music.

you wont be able use the existing one because it is actually wired to the OEM radio wire harness, and once you connect this unit, that oem usb port wont work. As far the assign button, I assigned for home screen.

Just one more question. Is it normal for car battery to drain faster? I have been noticing that if I don't drive my car for two days and start it, It takes a few tries to do that. Hey mate I just got this thing installed. Spent hours figuring out wires for the oem camera.. Finally got that working. Now the steering wheel keys don't work ?I go in there and there is only reset and save. When you unplugged the white plugs from the original head unit, there are 2 white plugs. Is one of them for steering wheel keys ?

thanks man! I actually know some people that have left it disconnected... I'm not entirely sure if that ground wire really helps in any way, but extra ground is always good and in some cases, it can help with any static in the car. As far as the connector, I dont remember the size i bought... sorry man.

Brent Lee yeah, once you connect this, the stock microphone won't work anymore that's why they provide one that plugs into the unit. That's the downside when you install an aftermarket stereo.

@Nico Just so you know if anyone else asks. This unit fits perfectly in my Galant Fortis. I have found that the back of the MMCS from my car has a weird plug for the antenna. I will have to cut the wires and attach a standard antenna plug to connect it to the back of the new unit. Also, the factory reversing camera does not have an RCA plug, it has a couple of plugs that connect to the MMCS. I am in the process of figuring out which plug does what, so I can solder them to a regular RCA plug.

yes bro! if you connect the handbrake the unit wont play any videos and other things unless you are parked, so i didn't bother to connect that. The reverse, i ended up buying a backup camera for that and it is now installed. The unit will work just fine if you don't connect those.

You can look it up online (eBay or Amazon) maybe under lancer/lancer Evo radio harness for aftermarket stereo. This unit it's actually relatively inexpensive. It cost $360, and you can see the link on the description. Unless you want something more simple, you know?

Sorry, you'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge since I don't (currently) know much about wiring. If I'm using the stock speakers but with an aftermarket amp/sub on this unit, can I just run RCA cables from the head unit/provided female RCA ends to my amp's input as signal wires? Or are they strictly for if I had an independent speaker setup (i.e. they can't be used as a signal wire in conjunction with stock speakers)?

Yes, you can connect the amp, sub and keep stock speakers. It's just like any other aftermarket stereo.

The X in australia comes with a reverse camera. I had a look at the camera and there are like 5 wires connected. Not 100% sure how to hook it up to the back of the new headunit. From my research of reverse cameras, I think 2 cables are for power (positive + earth), 2 cables are for RCA in (i might have to get an RCA cable and splice it and then connect the 2 wires) and the last one I'm not sure if its earth or detect. Also how do u install apps on the head unit ?

Sir Eric you could probably use the stock aux as long as you know which wires to cut and connect to the unit. As far as playing music through USB with your phone, I have an iPhone and it doesn't work with USB. If you have an android, it probably works, but I'm not 100% sure. You can play music using USB connection, but you have to connect a flash drive or hard drive to it.

BOOSTED REMEDY I just share my phone internet. Of course as long as you have the option to use your phone as a personal hot spot. Or you can buy a 3G/4g dongle and plug it into the USB port provided by the unit manufacturer.

as far as the letters, i haven't noticed any difference. I used to use the bluetooth but then i just transferred all of y songs to the micro sd and listen to them through the poweramp music app because it sounds way better, and i listened to pandora app in the unit when connected to internet. Michael Chen the plug for the microphone on the newer version is on a little hole next to the main harness. As far as the usb, they should plug in its respective spot.

Also, the iGo navigation app asks me to setup configuration everytime I start the program. Like setup language, country settings, accept their terms etc. I don't think that's normal right?

excel4600c it's the same thing, the only thing that changes it's the main harness. It's just a different harness, that's all. Installation is still the same.

No bro. Mine has been flawless... Maybe you got a bad harness. Did you buy it from Sygav? They are the ones that manufacturer this unit and are actually very responsive to emails and what not. Let them know the issue. Of course if you bought from them.

the radio itself, like listening to.90.3 or 92.5 it goes silent and stop working, but all the other apps work, like Bluetooth or music, but not radio, it goes on the goes silent

im sorry man... I wouldn't know what to tell you. If your dash looks like mine, i would assume it should fit. However, if you have a rockford fosgate unit, you will need a different harness to connect this unit.
