Event Description:
Richard Davenport will share his biblical and theological grounds for a spiritual life and practice that sustains one through the challenges of peace and justice work. How can we deal with opposition, roadblocks, division in our own ranks, emotional setbacks and injury, exhaustion, despair, lack of hope, tests of courage, and the capacity to see and appreciate progress?

Chaplain, Lt. Col, Richard Davenport USAF (retired) represented the Church of Christ, Scientist (Christian Science) as a Protestant Chaplain across three continents for two decades. He attended both Andover-Newton Theological School and Boston University’s School of Theology, graduating with a Masters of Divinity degree from the latter. He later pursued doctoral studies in adult spirituality at San Francisco Theological Seminary. He retired early from the Air Force to be a college Dean of Students at his alma mater near St. Louis.
After several years focusing on faith formation and community, he left the Dean’s work to launch a nationwide ministry to adults - which included publishing a series of contemporary Bible studies and holding marriage enrichment weekends, as well as on-line Bible and spiritual life programs and in-person conferences in 43 cities.
