Nice! A few questions if you don't mind: 1 - How much is the SYMS helping with the pressure drops vs higher weight + overfill (i.e., should people just skip the baffle) 2 - Do you keep the overfill when you are not on the track or do you extract, before heading back? Thanks!

SYMS pan baffle does have a bit of improvement over no baffle, especially with 0.8qt overfill I had. Something like 47psi minimal over 37psi minimal compared to 0.8qt overfill without the baffle. But it didn't fully eliminate the drop. And at Sonoma T2, the drop is even bigger. So I won't say it solved the issue. 2. For now yes. 0.8qt overfill seems to be OK at street. But GR86 is also not my daily so I am not very concerned.

@@nostreetracing86 - Makes sense! How did you end up with 0.8 for overfill amount? (e.g. vs 0.5 vs 1L)

Sorry for possibly stupid question...new to GR86. Mine is about 1/2 inch above the full mark on the dipstick (just had oil changed at dealer after break in). Would you say this is ok to run (I'm not sure what that would equate to in terms of quarts...) TIA@@nostreetracing86

My car burns a bit of oil. When I decided to overfill it and pour the leftover oil from the previous oil change, I only had 0.8qt. That is why it ends up as 0.8qt overfill (not a precise number)

It is hard to say how many QTs it overfilled. The overfill your dealer did is unlikely to cause any damage. It may cause a bit of oil burn occasionally as oil is easier to enter PCV.

Nice driving! Car looks very fun to drive. I noticed that your oil pressure is about 20psi more on average compared to other GR86s/BRZs I have seen data from. Any idea why?

It is using 5W40 oil (which should produce about 10psi higher pressure at the same temperature). And sensor is a Honeywell unit instead of AEM, mounted at OEM location instead of top of the engine block. It looks like the AEM sensor reads a bit lower at higher temperature due to temperature drifting. That probably explains why my oil pressure is a bit higher.
