Hi there, 28:24 part b Why is S (displacement) positive 0.5? B is going downwards so displacement should be negative, acceleration positive because gravity acts downwards? I am really confused when to put displacement and acceleration as +ve or -ve. Please explain sir, ty ❤

I'm taking the downward direction as the positive direction as that's the way the particle is moving

If a string is inextensible, the tension is the same throughout the string?

No. Inextensible means that we can assume that the acceleration is the same either side of the pulley. We can assume the same tension throughout the string if we model the string as light
