As we age, the wisdom we gain about our crazy world is so serious and frightening, that we need to find some way to feel that we still have control. Hello Nanny. I'm relatively new to your channel and I just love it. I am 4 months shy of being 73. I struggle a bit getting used to the changes in my face and a few other body parts as things are heading "south" 🙂. However, I am determined to enjoy the seasons of life and just be thankful for the gift of each day. Our skin sounds so similar. For most of my life, my skin all over my body , was dry, flaky and even scaly on my arms and legs. In school, even children would ask what was wrong with my skin. As I got older I tried every lotion, potion I could find. They might work for a few minutes or hours and then I'd be right back to the extreme dryness. When I was in my early 40's a retired nurse friend noticed my skin and told me about Curel ultra healing that they used in the hospitals both on the patients and the nurses hands since they had to continuously be washing their hands. I started using it all over my body...face included and within just a few weeks I had skin that looked more like everyone else. My makeup would go on without flaking (I do frequently exfoliate too as skin cells seem to build up onmy skin) and I could bare my arms and legs and look pretty normal. Even in our cold winters where I live, I can enjoy my well moisturized skin. I know I sound like a commercial for Curel...I'm not. Just sharing what I found so so helpful ad I know what extreme dry skin is Ike. One of the positive things about growing up with this skin condition is that from trying to find ways to be able to wear makeup without it looking all flaky, the skin on my face has always been well taken care of so I have very few wrinkles for my age. I have tried the most expensive face creams...nothing works like the Curel. I have started adding some retinol under it. If you've never tried Curel...you might give it a try. Just be sure to get the one that says ULTRA HEALING...It had a red label on it. Works great on feet too. I use an abrasive to get rid of rough skin and calluses then slather them in the Curel...my feet are sandle worthy. Thank you Nanny for sharing all that you do. I hope Moosey is feeling much better. I also love your little cottage and your gardens. 💕

We sound as if we are ‘skin sisters’, J….I have had exactly all the same flakey stuff you describe all my life…knee socks in college in the winter and razors would cut my legs even I tried to shave them….then along came Nivea for me…still have the dry skin but the creams help. I also use Urea and. 12%Amonium Lactate cream.. Thanks for sharing…I’ll get someCurel, too.❤️

Hello Nanny! You always look so nice & take good care of yourself. As you've said in the past it's also what's in our genetics. I do appreciate makeup tips for over 70. Only my tiny mirror is 20x magnication & can't see with less than that. I am looking for a large lighted mirror with 20× magnication. I do have dark spots from the horrid sunbathing in my youth. Yes after 65 + my skin changed with wrinkles, jawels & hair where it doesn't belong. I've given up on eye makeup other than eyeliner as it gets in the creases of my now hooded lids. I'm smiling watching you blink putting on mascara as I have a hard enough time trying not to poke myself in the eye just holding still. Lol. I wear glasses & my sight prevents seeing well enough to take care of the details of nice makeup. Thank you so much for this video. My very best to you, strength, peace & health. Hi Nanny I love all of your makeup tips. Love the concealer on the lids, great tip. I’m 53 and for my dry skin I drink an elixir made of 1tbs. Olive Oil, 1/4 lemon, a squeeze of organic honey, sprinkle of cayenne. This has so many health benefits, dry skin and hair, heart health, weight management,cleansing of the liver, immune builder and much more, I hope this helps.

Enjoyed your video today. Yes, we "wiser" gals over 70 need to use a different technique when applying our makeup. You have certainly found what works for you and look beautiful today. I really like the darker shadow you did on your eyelids to create a more lifted lid. That mascara you used today is "the bomb" and is a dupe for the much more expensive ones sold at the department store makeup counters. Glad Moose is doing better and that you continue to test negative. Stay healthy and safe.

Nanny you always look very nice. I love how we seniors still want to wear makeup. I watch all the same beauty channels you watch plus some. I buy everything they suggest and have a lot of stuff that didn't work for me. This morning I did try castor oil under my makeup, let's see how that works for me. I prefer a darker color shadow for the upper lid...you did a good job with the eyebrow pencil. Stay well. Two of my daughters had covid one had pneumonia and the other hasn't been tested as yet but she is going on two weeks with cough but now test negative and still coughing. 😷

Love your videos.love to try new things with my makeup and you give wonderful suggestions for the wise women. Thought I might offer a suggestion for moose since he still has the cough. Although I haven’t caught Covid I do cough from emphysema and recent surgery for lung cancer. A kind nurse suggested I drink some hot organic tea with a little honey for my coughing. It was the best advice I received for the coughing and wheezing. It doesn’t last forever but does provide some relief for me. Maybe it will help Moose too. Please take care of yourself because caregivers are our angel’s in disguise. My Hubby has been my angel. Take care and prayers for both of you.

Hi Nanny. I really enjoyed this video and agree that a touch of shimmer on the cheeks, eyelids and lips gives us a brighter and healthier look. Your makeup looks fantastic today. I'm 76 and have always liked makup, but I always went for a natural look. Less is more, and this is even more true as our faces get more saggy, wrinkly and sallow with age. Yes, that's the reality and I'm not under any delusion that I can hide my age - in fact I'm proud and grateful to be 76! But I do want to look just as vibrant and attractive as I can, not to impress anyone but to feel confident in myself. And there are so many wonderful affordable products out there that can work wonders for us 'mature' women, as we enjoy the pleasure of a few minutes of primping each day. I need Concealer and I use Mineral makeup. I use a Glow Stick too, that was a tip from you and I love the effect. Your Makeup is Really Beautiful on you Nanny.
