I've used A&D Ointment for at least 30 years to seal over my serums and moisturizers. My friends laughed at me because they considered it for baby's diaper rash, but guess what? the "A" in A&D ointiment is vitamin A which is retinol and vitamin D is also very beneficial for skin. I guess I was on to something many years ago. I'm 74 now and have almost wrinkle free skin. Who's laughing now.

Nanny in the 1990s we had a very dear friend in her 80s. She had been in the military as a young woman lived alone in a lovely condo on the beach. She had a face lift and looked so good. Her plastic surgeon recommended she put Vaseline on her face everyday and swore by it. She said Marilyn Monroe used this also. Thank you for reminding me now in my 70s there is no need for expensive face creams.

I never heard of slugging either but all winter it's a big help to my dry skin. When my children came into the house after being out in the snow I slugged their faces, who knew. I think the glowing skin on a senior looks great, makes us look healthy. As usual a wonderful video.

It’s long been known that the best sleeping position for beautiful skin is on the back. So when I heard about slugging AND noticed the deep wrinkles forming between my breasts, I switched from being a side sleeper to being a back sleeper. It was a very rough change, but no more greasy pillow cases, and goodbye to my chest wrinkles!

That hairdo is my most favorite of all! When I had my last skin cancer surgery my dermatologist told me to keep Aquaphor on my stitches and even when I got my stitches out they told me to continue using it. The scar has healed very well. My first surgery was on my right thigh years ago and they didn’t tell me to use anything so I didn’t. I have a very ugly scar from that surgery. The Aquaphor scar did so much better. Marilyn Monroe was a faithful slugger and just remember how beautiful her skin was. Marilyn ain’t got nothing on you though. You’re equally as beautiful. Hope Moose continues with the healing process.✝️💕

I used Aquaphor on my radiation burns from the breast cancer treatment back in 2016. I mean I used gobs of it as my skin looked like raw hamburger meat. I'm healed now but that "grease" was well worth the bit of messiness.

Vaseline is great. Right before I get into the shower I apply it all over. The soap washes most of it away but it leaves a fine, thin layer that protects your skin but doesn’t make a mess on your clothes or anything else you touch. I use Nivea too. I’m 76 and pretty happy with my skin.

​@@peekaboots01if you do this you aren't properly cleaning the skin/pores because the vaseline is oil based which repels water. That's why you would be left with a thin layer of the vaseline still. It's counter productive.

Our mom apparently did facial slugging with us in the winter back in the early 70’s when she slathered our faces with Vaseline before heading out to play. I hated it, but it had to have protected our skin from cold and wind burn. It’s funny how old techniques are resurfacing with new names and the youngins think it’s something new that they discovered. Makes me laugh. Unfortunately, petroleum makes me break out so I can’t use it on my face. It’s way too heavy. Your 84 year old face looks amazing so it has worked!

I am mid seventies, have very few lines etc. I used Vaseline all my life due to allergies to beauty products. I use Vaseline all over my body. On my face just a dab, and I tissue excess off, because it does mess with my facial skin. You might try using tissue to blot excess off. Hope that works for you.

Oh dear that sounds like caring for a car. But now look at the results. Your children and grandchildren should take heed. I was always very careful with my skin. I am very fair and have very sensitive skin. But now we know so much more about skin care and have science backed products. So we are almost overwhelmed by the ads which can be confusing. I would do this after a shower, or a facial steam. That really hydrates the skin. Use an exfoliate cream, then do all this. Also, I would do this only several times a week. Castor oil will help grow brows and lashes. Glycerine is fabulous and you can mix in vitamins E. Love this so I’ve subscribed.

Love this! I'M a nanny too! I'm 59 years young and forgot about slugging. Used to use it on my neck. I have always been told I look 10 years or more younger. The reason I since I was in high-school I always use a wash cloth with soap any kind and I scrub my face with it. It exfoliates and gets my skin sqeaky clean. Then I always use a moisturizer or now a anti wrinkle cream. Retinol never worked for me and made my skin too dry. I also moisture my neck and chest, and I have used bio identical progesterone to keep my bones strong and feel young. I love your hair. You look fabulous! ❤

Probably Henna wax, which comes in clear for amazing conditioning or red for colouring hair a beautiful auburn shade with same conditioning benefit. Red should not be used on grey hair. Very messy application like mud but worth the result. Used to get the red henna done at hairdressers. Long process but colour and condition were fantastic.

Hi Nanny, I have been slugging for about the last seven years on my face and body. I put Vaseline or Aquaphor on my face every night to seal all my skin care in. I also put it on my eyelids and under my eyes. I just found a new product that I am absolutely loving that I will show in my KZbin Shorty video on Sunday. I put a lot of oil on my body and then seal it in with the Aquaphor in the spray can. At 74, I have not heard of "slugging"! But, I do have a best friend that since high school has been using Vaseline every night as a moisturizer and her skin is as beautiful as yours!! I started using the Nivea as soon as I watched your video about it and I love it. I feel a difference in how my skin looks using that every night. I have even put some hyaluronic beneath it figuring it can't hurt! But, now, I will "slug" with the vaseline! Just a little story...when my brother had a skin cancer on his back removed a year ago, the surgeon had me just use a thin layer of vaseline on his bandage, changed daily and I was blown away at how fast the incision site healed in! Said definitely no antibiotic ointment, just vaseline or Aquaphor, but preferably vaseline!! I was amazed and now use it, like you, for a healing salve too! Good Morning Nanny and Moosie 🤗 great to hear Moosie in background. A dear friend vaselined her entire body including hair twice a week. Had softest skin ever and great hair. I slug 3 days a week. Because of my eyes, can't sleep with it on at night. Eyes don't tear a lot and can't easily rid the film on eyes. Once again, you look AMAZING! Thanks for your inspiration!! God bless everyone 🤗☘️🤗
