There was a period from around 1987 onward where light RPG elements were incorporated into arcade games - examples Black Tiger or Wardner.

This is just another reason why I champion these collections instead of having a “Virtual Console”. These will actually go on sale where as the “Virtual Console” games NEVER went on sale (not counting the “upgrade program” that was on WiiU).

Ten reminds me of Dargon Fire on Atari. The way the little guy runs, haha.

Lol yeah I can see the similarities in the run animation and the size of the character

The first stage of Galacticon also really reminds me of Jet-Pac for the ZX Spectrum, which was also on the Rare museum collection for the Xbox One (AKA the best five bucks I ever spent for any console game I ever bought). But overall it has a VERY Williams arcade game feel with the use of color and sound. Love those old arcade style games. Love the sound they made too. They had the best pew pews of all the pew pews.
@JohnRiggs2 жыл бұрын
I played that a bunch on that Rare Replay on Xbox One.

Are there alternative views for the NeoGeo Pocket Color game? The frame looks neat but would be distracting for a whole rpg. Also would want a larger, clearer screen instead of emulating dim, dull LCDs from 20 years ago.

Wonder Boy in Monster World was re-skinned as The Dynastic Hero for Turbo CD. Monster Lair is the platformer/shooter hybrid. I think the arcade version of that one is going to be included in the upcoming physical version of the Wonder Boy collection.

@@OriginalBadRobotz see I am not big on playing any games on a handheld(other than handheld games like gba or something.) 7:00 I DO LONG FOR THOSE DAYS! Frankly, I'm puzzled as to why those games aren't really made much anymore. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has been hailed as a masterpiece. Maybe they're too hard to make or something. Anyway thanks for the great suggestions. I hope you do another video with your daughters at some point.

Likely due to the cost increase due to HD era (PS3, 360). That meant all assets had to be in HD, which takes much more time & money to create.

I'd pass on Biomotor Unitron. I was a huge NGPC fan and bought this back in the day. I beat it and there was nothing really bad, but I was totally underwhelmed even back in 1999/2000. I'd recommended Card Fighters for NGPC or so many other classic JRPGs instead.

And on tg16 it is both. They had an adventure island game and a few wonderboy games. But yeah i believe a few were renamed as monster lair and dynastic hero respectively. But there was at least one called wonderboy. Best of my memory. Also there was a game called dragons curse which i believe was somehow related to wonder boy.

The Wonder Boy games should have had all 3 Sega Master system Versions from 1-3 as they are the best versions. That Kangaroo game is like Mario 64 with better camera angles. Anyways that Kangaroo game doesn't tell you where to go & all 3D games have the worst camera angles compared to all 2D games because in 2D games you see yourself & the whole screen. Where in 3D games you can't see the back or the sides. You are always moving that camera where as 2D games you don't, it moves for you & a huge reason why 2D games are a lot better.
