94-98 SN95 are great platforms to start with. 4 wheel disc brakes, 8.8 dif, lots of room in the rear fender wells, lots of room in the engine compartment. Designed in Ford’s new wind tunnel program, much better coefficient of drag vs. Foxbody.

I'm not a Ford fan, at all. But saying the SN95 is a better platform than the Foxbody has to be one of the most retarded comments I've ever read. The T5 and 9inch they put in Foxbodies alone makes them superior. The 4.6L in the SN95 was a ripoff of the Cadillac High-tech engine (later known as the Northstar), and the 5.0's were so nuetered, they might as well have been 4 bangers. Fox bodies with a smart build, mild cam, lifters, headers, intake, were actually impressive cars and in my opinion one of the few respectable Mustangs. Where SN95's with hard builds were still shit. The drag coefficient on both were pure shit. The only car Ford has ever built with a decent drag is the GT, and they basically just made it into a race car...

I had a 1994 Mustang GT when I was in college and man was it great. A thing you didn't mention is that in 1996, Ford switched from the 5.0 to the 4.6 for GT Mustangs, so if you want an SN95 with a 302, you're limited to 1994 and 1995. That said, sometimes car companies (allegedly) will down tune a car the year before a new power plant is introduced in order to make the new one look better on paper. That being the case, if you can get into a 1994 GT 5.0, you've found a true diamond. I'm not saying the 4.6 is worse per say than the 5.0 (I've owned both), but it's like comparing raisins to wine; same ingredients, far different outcome.

For the c4 corvette here is what you should know: Stay away from 1984. Horrible engine and it’s slow with many problems. First year of the c4. 1985-1991 came with the l98 engine. While they may not have a boatload of horsepower they do have a s*** ton of torque. I would recommend the later model l98 such as 89-91. Later models produced around 250hp and 350ftlbs of torque. Later models had better heads. 89 had the last year for digital dash, 90 had the new interior which also came with airbags, and the 91 came with the new interior and exterior. When it comes to making power the intake is the main restriction. It’s also what gives it the great amount of torque. The exhaust is also a big restriction. As someone with a 90 vette with headers back I can tell you that it’s a night and day difference. The thing f****** rips! With headers and exhaust and a tune from Pcm of nc my quarter mile is running high 12’s and low 13’s with the mods I have. If you swap out the intake and spec it right you can totally make power. The l98 is more of a stoplight to stoplight warrior especially with mods. 92-96 came with the lt1. If you had a manual the 96 came with the lt4. These cars produced more horsepower, but still had similar torque values as the l98. These cars wanted to rev more high up unlike the l98. The downside tho is the dreaded optispark distributor system that sat right underneath the water pump. Not to mention it’s a pita to work on. It might not feel as torquey as the l98, but once it gets into it it’ll go. The 1996 lt4 is a different monster tho. Overall both have pros and cons so it depends on what you want. IMO if I had to choose again I would still go for my 1990 l98. Most of my driving is street and with the torque and overall peddle feel I’d have to choose the l98. If you’re more of a highway driver I’d probably recommend the lt1 as it will pull more on the top end. I also like the older body style so the 90 is a win for me. Stock vs stock 0-60 is about the same, but the lt1 will pull more up top compared to the l98. Although that is true, an l98 pared with a good intake and a full exhaust will be the same if not faster than the lt1 imo. I’m not completely biased against lt1’s. I’ve driven in them before. They definitely have power and pull more up top compared to my 90, but with what I have done to my 90 l98 I would smoke a stock and or slightly modified lt1. All I ask of you is do your research and find which one fits you. We all have our own opinions and I’m sure the lt owners will give me crap, but I love my 90 vette and I got this thing for only a few grand and it even came with an aftermarket sound system with a 10 inch sub and a backup camera.

Just say, 'avoid anything with crossfire;' which includes plenty of C3s. TPI were okay, but needed a lot of mods to keep up. Once LT's came out, Corvettes were moddable into screamers, with later models being pretty boss.

If you want an American v8 but perhaps not an American car for under 10k, Jaguar xjr. 4.0 supercharged v8 made by ford. One of the most reliable cars ever in my opinion, and this past weekend me and a buddy went and got one for him and drove it back 4.5 hours only stopping twice, but without a single issue other than the rear left brake light went out when we were 20 minutes from home. Very fast, comfortable, and fun as hell to drive for a 1998 bone stock car. And it hadn’t been driven in 2 years. My neighbor gave me their 05 mustang GT for 4.5k and she was the only owner with 140k miles. She took great care of it but i dont think she knew how much the car actually was lol.

My god lmao! Wish I had a neighbor like that. All they ever did was yell at my friends and I when we were trying to learn to drive manual on our dead end street :/

Should have included Mercedes such as the w209, nice examples just under 10k over 300hp light and sporty with many cool luxury features and great reliability

I didn't look it up, but I'd think you could find some 1st gen CTS-Vs, as well.

Those are awesome but I was seein em for like $15k at the lowest :/ I wanted to be able to add em though cause I think they're pretty cool for the price

I had a 06 LS v8 and boy that car went through the ringer. Multiple owners beat to hell. I even gave up and for 6 months I was the smoking car guy. When the junkyard came get the car (donated) it still had power

That lS had the Jaguar 3.9 l same as the 2002-2005 Thunderbird, problemsome COPs, plastic intake parts, blend door problems etc, if you can get one cheap enough to deal with the future problems, buy it!

3 fast v8s under 10k i’ve seen recently are sn95 cobras 94-98 these ones make less power than the new edge cobras but weigh almost nothing comes with a supercharger on the 4.6 and are fun with manual. good luck finding a new edge cobra for under 10k tho, sts v 2006-2009 these come in the north star 4.4 with a supercharger, like the guy said in the video i’ve heard bad things about northstars aswell but makes a good 470 horsepower that’s a sleeper, last i’ve seen these under 10k with higher mileage are most srt 8 cars except the challenger and magnum this includes the charger,300,cherokee they come in a 6.1l hemi making a good 425 hp cherokee comes in awd and the others in rwd all these are fun fast cars i just wanna note that these are top of the line cars, paying under 10k with these most likely means you’ll end up paying a huge amount in maintaining them or fixing them up

Awesome recommendations! I'm jealous if you've seen these for under 10k lol. I think those 95-98 Cobras were NA, but still great cars for the price!

2004 GTO’s are the best cheap American (ish) V8 sports car imo.. you can find the 2004 5.7 LS1s for 10k or under.. yes the mileage will be higher but they are fun cars with 350hp/365tq and a T-56 6 speed.. I bought mine a few years ago for $6k with 125k miles.. 05-06 owners will tell you (without you asking btw) that the 2004s are stupid compared to their LS2 cars but a 2 door, 350hp, limited slip differential, 6 speed bullet proof tranny and an all American LS1 with massive aftermarket support for $6-$10k would be top of my list.. ty 🤘🏻
