The source in Donaueschingen is just an artificial construction with no geographical meaning. By the way the region at the real source is a great hiking area. A beautiful, not too difficult hike is to the Brend Tower where a. Ice restaurant is waiting for you.

I think numbers 2, 3, 4, 8 and 10 for sure. If you can walk a little bit maybe Triberg and All saints waterfalls as well because it's only a few hundred meters walking.

You definitely need a car. Public transportation is very limited as far as I remember.

This was mid November if I recall correctly. Roads are usually kept snow/ice free but there might be a bit of ice sometimes
