I'm buying an Aerial Silk and putting it in my garage, I'm going to have to self teach since I can't because of COVID-19, these little videos help me a lot though, thank you!
@UniqueAerialists4 жыл бұрын
That's exciting! Please be careful when you're self teaching, I'm sure you wouldn't be please please please do not attempt to teach yourself off youtube videos! When learning silks (or any other apparatus) there are so many points about a move that can easily be missed if you're watching a video that doesn't explain everything eg a tutorial. There are some great tutorial subscription website out there which break down the moves, similarly to how an instructor does, all of my silks tutorials are on academy.uniqueaerialists.com good luck!!

Hi! I have been trying to find a course near my location, but I would have to travel 5 hours for the one that's closest to me, so that's not going to happen. But soon I will be moving into a top floor apartment, and I was thinking if it's safe to get these silks and attach to the cealing there? Obviously, I will ask around, but would you recommend it? This is something I really want to do for a very long time now, and with my upcoming moving it would be a great opportunity for me to start. And also, if it's safe, do you find amazon or ebay stuff safe enough? Or where elso could I get them? Your video was great to watch and very-very educational! Thank you! Greetings from Austria :)

Hi! I would definitely recommend hiring a rigger to check the beams are safe to hold you and set it up, I don't know enough about that to be able to offer any other advice. Sorry! Love this video! Question about the “on the knot” poses you did. I’ve always been taught that you need to have the knot lower down, just above your butt. However, I do find it a bit more comfortable to have it higher like you did. I definitely get bruises though. What do you recommend?
@UniqueAerialists6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! There's no right or wrong, some people find it more comfortable to have it lower, you just have to be careful that you don't have it too low as it could make it easier to fall out. I prefer it to be on the small of my back rather than my hips and if you're getting into the knot from off the floor then it will naturally go to the small of your back, you just have to be careful that it's not too high and pressing on your ribs. Hope that makes sense :)

Theoretically, could i hang silks from a metal swing set, for practicing ground moves?
@UniqueAerialists4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on how it is made, what it is made out of, how good quality it is etc, basically you can hang silks off it if it is strong enough :)
@rilana25635 жыл бұрын
Hey I discovered this video really late but I have 3 question's: 1.Where can I buy those silks? 2.Can you also made silks yourself? 3.Where can you hang them, like if your outside they maybe can hang in a tree but if your inside?? Thank you for if you see this!!
@UniqueAerialists5 жыл бұрын
Hi There are a few places you can buy silks online, I buy mine from www.firetoys.com. The silks are just one long piece of material, I'm sure you could make them yourself if you have the right material. For outside use portable rigs are available, it's not generally advised to rig from trees. For inside use rigs are available to buy that fit inside homes, I have previously used the Xpole one. Or you can install a rigging point depending on the structure of the building. Hope that helps!

@Katherine_critters Жыл бұрын
Aerial silks are not gentle on any part of the body I do not recommend I know I’m younge but trust me it will give some injuries regardless do not do aerial silks but what I would recommend is maybe aerial hammock which doesn’t involve barely as much foot or leg compressions or stress I saw this and was like ik I’m not the creator of the video but I had to say it

Hi! This room is just under 4 metres and my silk is 10 metres. Generally you need to double the height of your rigging then add a metre each end, so yours sounds the perfect length but it's personal preference some people do prefer longer silk.
