Very lucky that my partner appreciates my knitting and the work that goes into it. I made a scarf and she always wears it to work and brags to all her coworkers about how loved she is. I also gave my brother a blanket i originally knit for myself and although it's too small for him, he uses it every knit, carries it around the house, and his cat absolutely adores it. It feels good to be appreciated 🥰 i'm surrounded by truly knit-worthy people

Self-taught knitter here. I have been knitting on and off inconsistently for 30+ years. I am a leftie and I used to learn from reading as opposed to looking online; even trying to find a knitting technique online is difficult because there are not many leftie knitters out there and I don’t know any knitters. I am consistently knitting now due to a recent change in lifestyle and I am loving it! There are so many things to learn and I am hoping to eventually learn colour work. The one thing I am frustrated about are the patterns that are available out there. Patterns are not created equal and a lot assume that you can read between the lines, which is frustrating. Learning to knit independently is basically trial and error. I remember frogging projects for as many as 10 times before getting the pattern just right. As far as yarn labels are concerned, I have always kept them or attached them to the completed project especially when giving the item away as a present specifically for the care of the material. I still consider myself as a novice knitter, I don’t like swatching, and its just been recent since I started making adult sweaters since I never had the time or patience until now. Also, in the past, I have always preferred to knit using single pointed needles; but, now, my preference are rounded needles. I find as knitters we will consistently evolve, and for the better 😊… Thanks for the informative video ❤

I've started knitting with VeryPink Knits as well, her videos are sooo good! It's really amazing how much knowledge people are sharing via youtube, it's great that you've mentioned it together with the other tips. And speaking of, time for me to finally look up videos on how to do short rows to raise the back of jumpers, been procrastinating on learning that one for a good few weeks... 😂

I totally agree! I learned short row shaping a few years ago and it changed the sweater game hahaha

I Wish I knew How to purchase quantities since I made a lot of mistakes when I started and purchased too little of my projects. Also I did not know how to block either lol

I feel like I always buy extra cause I'm so worried about having to order more 😭

It’s very hard to spend countless hours crocheting or knitting or even embroidering, only to have the gift dumped or ignored. I’m way more selective in who I do anything for. Period. I prefer to make such precious things for complete strangers, they appreciate it sooo much more.

Learn to handwash your knits properly. It will preserve them for years against wear and tear and the colour will stay vibrant. I find it very satisfying to take care of the items i put a lot of money and time into. I value my hard work. And learn to block them well also.
