10 Best Chinese Remakes Of Korean Dramas!

Boys Over Flowers is originally a Japanese manga. Before the Korean drama version was made there were Taiwanese (Meteor Garden) and Japanese ( Hana yori Dango) versions of it. So Meteor Garden is definitely not a remake of the Korean version.

Exactly - but I think they are just referring to the Chinese version starring Dylan Wang - there is also an earlier Chinese version called Meteor Shower - personally I prefer the Didi version of Meteor Garden over BOF, I think almost the entire cast is better, but that's just me

@@annetterawlings4549 I prefer the Didi version of Meteor Garden over BOF 2009 too. I was just saying they are all adaptations of the Japanese manga and there were other drama versions in 2001 and 2005 preceding the Korean version so we can't say that the Chinese version(2018) is a remake of the Korean version(2009). Actually I study Mandarine, Japanese, Korean and Thai as a hobby so I watched all the versions as a listening exercise. Personally speaking I never really liked the Korean version. My top 3 would be the Japanese version Hana Yori Dango(2005), F4 Thailand(2021) and Meteor Garden(2018). I would never recommend the Korean version(2009) , the Chinese version Let's Go Watch Meteor Shower(2009) or the Taiwanese version Meteor Garden (2001) even though I like Jerry Yan as an actor .

To the best of my knowledge, the 2001 taiwanese version of meteor garden is the first to be based on the novel, so calling the Chinese meteor garden a remake of boys over flowers seems wrong. In name, timeline, and plot it is more a remake of the taiwanese version

Actually Angie Chai the Taiwanese producer who produced both the 2001 Taiwanese version and the 2018 Chinese version, originally intended to produce the 2018 Chinese version as a remake of the 2001 Taiwanese version. So technically speaking the 2018 Chinese version is a remake of the Taiwanese version based on the Japanese manga. The Korean version has nothing to do with it.

I love W Two Worlds (2016) - I loved The Next Stop W (2023) as well - but the best version in my books is the Thai version called Switch On (2021)

Omfg another video who claims Boys Over Flowers was the OG. it's not, Boys Over Flowers is a remake itself. I have Korean friends who loved the Taiwan version and didn't bother to watch the Korean version. I watched the Taiwan, Korean, and Chinese versions. In my opinion, I loved the Taiwan version. Didn't really like the Chinese version. I just felt like they downplayed the bullying part a lot which ended up making the change of the male leads less dramatic and how competeing was orignally fighting but became playing bridge instead in the Chinese version. Idk the angst was just downplayed a lot in the Chinese version and it made the drama overall leaving less of an impression. I don't think I even finished it.

Why do they make kdrama into Chinese version? I think their original stories are much more interesting in my opinion like My Girlfriend is An Alien and A Love So Beautiful

Guess it's no different from US making remakes of UK series etc - to each his own, but I enjoy watching remakes and comparing them myself
