All those tones are unreal. Brilliant! The Petrucci tone is so spot on it's scary. The Diezel is just crushing! The Recto sounds even better than a real Recto. The IIC Plus is spot on. The Uber tone is amazing. The Soldano sounds so much like a Soldano it's uncanny. The 800 British sounds incredible, takes me back to the Sunset strip in the 80s when I was either playing in bands as a teen shred wizard or watching other shredders ply their trade. The 800 sounds more like a modded 800 than an off the Guitar Center floor 800. What became a popular thing was to get a single channel 800 and get it modded, in some cases into just one hot channel, then use another amp for clean tones. The belief was that if you had a two channel you would lose some potential tone and wattage. What seperated the Lee Jackson/Metaltronix mode is that it was focused on 800s rather than Plexis. The Arredondo/Soldano/Bogner/Blaha mods were about the Plexi as the touchstone.

Great tones man! I have had the unit for six months. I paired with the Mission Engineering Gemini 2 powered cab. There is no piece of gear that I have ever owned that even comes close. If it didn’t have one amp/cab sim, it would still be the best effects processor on the planet that’s worth every penny. Playing with a band, you just can’t hear the difference between the “real” amps and the sims. And to top it off, it sound amazing at lower room volume. Buy one. You will not be disappointed.

That jcm model had some really nice sag going on. Great tones man.
@angusorvid88404 жыл бұрын
It's great, but much more like a JCM mod, which is superior to a stock JCM. In the 80s JCMs were NOT prized at all. It was the mod that improved the amp.

Images and Words wasn't a IIC+. The gain was actually a Zoom multi FX of all things.

I thought it was a Triaxis?
@SYNDRONE4 жыл бұрын
High Gain tones were all from a Triaxis Preamp. One of the 5 or 6 layers for the clean intro on Pull Me Under was played with a Gibson guitar which was run into a Zoom pedal to create an acoustic guitar tone.

Are you using the boost knob on the Majesty on any of these? Btw, in Pull Me Under, it's a D# (not D# #5) to G/D. But those JP tones were amazing!! Especially when you added the chorus.

Do you do any deep edditing or just use the front pannel gain and EQ? Also, is this a preset pack?

Das Metall is the best preset without having to adjust anything. Well, that and the downloadable Steve Stevens Atomic Playboys preset.

Did you engage the drive block, tweak the EQ or anything else or just switch to the JP2C Yellow amp for the Crunch Me Under? Mine sounds like it's definitely missing some "dirt" just making the amp change.

Hello, please tell me, is there anything else in the chain besides Axe FX III? I'm just trying to play presets too, the sound is similar but far from what you have on the video!

Я подозреваю, что первым делом в цепочке надо проверить какая у вас гитара и, главное, какие на ней звукосниматели. Опыт подсказывает, что с этого начинается очень многое.

Hi, will there be further factory presets for the ax fx3?
@fabiol.91614 жыл бұрын
Hi Cooper...is there any special advice to setup the hi gain amps? Do you also tweak into the differents options of the amp block for example in the power supply page ecc ecc or the factory settings are good enough to let us just modify the "standards" controls of an amp?thanks

I like "Ma the Meatloaf" preset. Any chance I can replicate that tone on my good old Axe FX 2 XL?
@HedOnFire Жыл бұрын
Yeah, these presets don't sound nearly as crushing as this as I'm trying it out, ESPECIALLY the Brit 800. I have tried plugging directly into my adam audio t8v monitors and tried with headphones directly out of the unit itself. Changed output to +4 dBu from -10 dBv. Used both an esp eclipse with emgs, as well as a music man majesty. Also definitely have cab irs loaded in (as the preset has it already set up), volume and tone knobs turned up on the guitar...and they just don't sound anywhere near as crushing or heavy as these. Very lacklustre, no sustain, kind of apologetic sounding. Everything for me is lacking punch, sustain, and just sort of...I dunno, to me would qualify as mid-gain sounds. Dunno what's going on...but dialing in my own scenes resulted in some seriously CRUSHING high gain though \m/. Very happy with my personal presets at least!
@k24sedan80 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I don’t get this either. All of my factory presets sound like edge of breakup tones. None of them sound close to this unless I add a boost and add gain. Starting to think I’m doing something wrong or something is up with my unit.

@knowitall16944 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. I've played a lot of amps in my lifetime. Currently, I play a Positive Grid Bias Mini guitar amp and for fun a Laney IRT 60 head. Before that I had a Marshall DSL20H and so on. I run my amps through 1970's Rola/Celestion greenbacks which are housed in a custom made 2 x 12" cab made of solid pine wood. I have no idea whether its the programming of the Axe Fx or something else but I'm not a fan of the tonal quality. It sounds sterile to me. Yep, the Axe Fx does a few interesting tones but even my Bias Mini guitar amp has more realistic tonal variations, above all, my Fender, Mesa and Marshall-ish sounds, at least to me, actually sound better than Axe Fx's stock presets. Nice demo though.
