A bit of research would have helped, though I must say with the obsession with pronouncing names the native Maori way especially the weather forecasters and newsreaders it can be a little difficult if you don't actually live in NZ, on my last visit in 2006 after watching the tv I realised the way I pronounced places in the 1970s it would be considered wrong today.
