The seasonal body mists from Sol de Janeiro are amazing this year. I think they’re only available in store at Sephora right now, but they are really good. I keep spraying the Carioca Crush one over and over, and I bought a backup bottle. It’s a super sugary realistic fresh pear, that doesn’t have any milkiness in it, so it’s just fresh and sugary sweet, instead of lactonic. It also smells nothing like the viral Carioca Heart, if someone is afraid to try it because they think it’s a dupe of that. I hated that one, and love the body mist.

I’m in my late 50’s. Some of my favorite scents are no longer as appealing so I’m not reaching for them as much and they just sit on my tray. However, if there is a way to give my oldies a boost, I would be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. For example, three of my favorite scents are Paris by YSL, Paloma Picasso and Clinique Aromatics. Are there any newer fragrances they can be mixed with, confidently, that would bring them up to date?

Ah!!! Paloma Picasso! One of my first “big girl” perfumes. But I bought it again but didn’t love it like I used to. Perfume layering is like cooking; if something is too oily or greasy, you add an acid (lemon, vinegar, lime)…..or if you want to bring out more sweetness, you add more sugar. Perfumes are the same. However, aldehydes are hard to tone down, but you can use a strong floral note or even a vanilla (depending on your taste)

Great market just means discounters. Fragrances with large unsold inventory will get sent to “gray market” or discounters and the price will be lowered (supply-demand) in order to get the merchandise sold more quickly. I’ve had my eye on Neon!!
