This. So many times in this era, we were spoon-fed cookie cutter, artificial drivel; when the Miz gave an impassioned response, and stared into the camera, glassy-eyed and emotional, you felt every single word that was spoken. The Pipe Bomb was terrific, but was planned. Punk likely knew what he was going to say hours in advance. Maybe even days. This was a man who had reached his breaking point, and laid it all out on the line, on an episode of a throwaway talk show.

That promo came from the Mix’s heart. Before that point fans disrespected him because he wasn’t as good as Daniel Bryan was in the ring. The guys backstage disrespected him because he was a main stream “star” being brought to take up their air time. He shut the haters up by becoming one of the best heels of the decade. And that was Awesome.

I just don't think the "fan favorite indie dude" has traction for Colt in AEW right now. There's Orange, Darby, Janela...and that's before you consider the "WWE toss-outs because creative didn't know how to use them" of Hager. Cardona and Miro, who are about to make a scene... Colt embracing the Dark Order could be one of the best things in wrestling. Particularly if he makes that change in the ring. So much of his moveset could easily be a more evil, aggressive style without too much change.
