For me, as good as Cena vs HBK was, it's hard to not have Taker vs Hardy at one simply because that match cemented Jeff as a singles star at the end. There was no doubt, when he refused to stay down and Taker went from being more and more pissed off to impressed, it showed Taker what he had and was the proof that Jeff could actually fly solo.

Before his firing, he wrote a new contract giving himself a title match. And he won. Biggest pop i had heard in a while. Can't believe they missed it.

On the Shawn/Cena match, if I recall correctly, went 1 hour to fill time. There were other big name matches advertised prior to that RAW, but there were Wellness Policy violations that led to suspension before it. Which led to match cancellations. So in order to fill time, Cena and Michaels just put on an hour long classic.

There was supposed to be a double main event that night with HBK vs Cena and Orton vs Edge. Orton, I believe, got kicked off a plane and so that match had to be 86'd.

Bret Hart vs. 1-2-3 Kid for the WWE Championship on the July 11th, 1994 episode deserves at least an honourable mention. While it wasn't the last match of the show, it was undoubtedly the main event, and it is a fantastic contest, called expertly by Jim Ross and Randy Savage. It is my favourite WWE match of all time too.

There were a couple of Raw main events I really enjoyed in 2004 when I first started watching wrestling. The first was a 6-man elimination tag match that was Benoit, Jericho, and Edge vs. Evolution (Triple H was at ringside). It lasted well past 11 and was very enjoyable. The other was Benoit vs Triple H in a 60-minute Ironman match for the World Heavyweight Championship. That was Benoit’s last successful title defense, and the match was awesome!

You might want to check out Mr Perfect v Ric Flair in a Loser Leaves WWF match the closing stages alone were great this was in January 1993 . Another classic worth checking the European Championship final British Bulldog v Owen Hart this was when RAW was in Berlin , Germany in 1997 .
