Yes, RGIII is a bust, but with an asterisk. The outcome is the same, but he falls into a slightly different category. Plenty of other players came back from the same injury and were successful; Adrian Peterson and Rob Gronkowski are good examples.

yeah no RGIII isnt a bust, dont care about that asterisk you wanna put there. Bro was literally forced to completely change his game and never played the same because of it. also you chose some very interesting examples. AP was already a freak and did something extremely rare back then hell its still rare. hell kevin whites the same both had brutal injuries and to put them as busts is Bullshit. you know that, we know that, you need to do better man. theyre were 100% bigger busts in the 2010's than those 2. in 2013 both luke joeckel and dion jordan were taken back to back with joeckel going 2nd overall and jordan going 3rd. Jordan played 63 games in 6 seasons with not very good stats, joeckel played for years last playing in 2017 for seattle.

RgIII was not a bust he was killing it before injury a bust is matt leinart, Jamarcus Russell, Jake locker etc. Redskins picked correct player but didn’t use him correctly and rushed him back in to soon after the injury. RGIII would’ve had a great career if never injured. Adrian Peterson and Rob took time off to heal. Adrian did win mvp the next season but he had the off season to heal ! RGIII was thrown into a playoff game injured.

I don’t recall Trubisky being seen as a “savior,” if anything he was seen as an experiment with potential excellent upside. He was 4-8 his rookie year (for a 5-11 team, their 4th straight year of 10+ losses.) Then the Bears were 11-3, 8-7 and 6-3 with Trubisky starting. They gave up on him, for whatever stupid reasons. They were 2-5 the rest of his last Chicago year, then went 6-11, 3-14 and 7-10. They’re 4-2 now under 1st overall pick Caleb Williams, but haven’t played anyone besides Houston w/ a winning record or that has good metrics. Trubisky was no superstar, but handled correctly he could’ve done for Chicago what Flacco did in Baltimore.

What stings even more for the Bears when they traded for Trubisky was just how much better the 49ers did with their assets. While Solomon Thomas (the pick that actually belonged to the Bears) was a bust, it was another pick in that haul that is the real kick in the family jewels. The 3rd round pick in the 2018 Draft ended up being 70th overall, and the Niners selected Fred Warner, who is the man in the middle of the 49ers linebacker corps. Rubbing more salt in the rounds, the 3rd round pick from 2017 was traded by the Niners to the Saints, and the Saints ended up selecting Alvin Kamara with it. Even though the Bears would have definitely botched Mahomes or Watson (let's just say the Bears lack the coaching staff needed to develop QBs) if they had gone there, can you imagine if instead of trading those picks, we would be seeing Alvin Kamara or Fred Warner in Bears colors instead? While it would not immediately turn the Bears into Super Bowl contenders overnight, it certainly would have given them a fighting chance for bragging rights against their NFC North rivals.

I am here for the Sam Darnold revenge Arc!

Most people don't know that colleges did NOT recruit RG3 to play QB, but to play WR. The reason RG3 chose Baylor is they promised him he'd play QB.

RG3 was not s bust. Also, I'd rather have mitch on my team than Watson in 2024...

Still can't believe my favorite team took John Ross over Patrick Mahomes, Marshon Lattimore, TJ Watt, Christian Macaffrey, Ryan Ramczyk... 🤦♂️

Best to know the difference between bust and situation of circumstance. RG3 lasted seasons with some success, and Sam Darnold played for arguably the worse team. But the rest, hard to argue.

Justin Blackmon is the biggest bust in this list. He was an absolute monster at OSU. He should've been a perennial Pro Bowler and future HOFer.

The fact that the Cardinals traded *up* to get Rosen pisses me off to this day. I wanted Lamar Jackson who the Cards could have gotten easily at 15. Then in 2019, if things still shook out the way they did, took Nick Bosa. I can't imagine the Cards with Bosa and Chandler Jones on the same defense.

The Cleveland Browns gm looks like NBA coach Mike Brown twin brother 😆

It’s not even really about drafting Mitch above Mahomes it’s about trading up to 2nd overall for a QB most teams didn’t have a 1st round grade on
@chancenebeker4481Ай бұрын
the whole lead up to the draft almost every one had mitch and watson neck and neck for the number 1 qb taken . no one had a 2nd round grade on mitch
@SnuggieMapleАй бұрын
@@chancenebeker4481 My bad I was thinking of Mahomes but even then the 49ers probably weren’t gonna take him

Manziel was the most interesting person for the wrong reasons. He was like Urban Meyer at the time. You knew he was going to do something. You just didn't know what it was or how bad it was going to be.

I feel terrible for Kevin White and RGIII. Those careers would have been incredibly different without the injuries.
@tobiaswilliamson00Ай бұрын
I honestly believe that Johnny Manziel would have not had all of the off-field issues he had if was not drafted to Cleveland in 2014. I believe that Johnny Manziel was intentionally trying to get caught up in controversy as a way to be kicked off of the Cleveland Browns because it's the Cleveland Browns who have done nothing in their franchise's history in the Super Bowl era whether during the first iteration from 1966 to 1995 or the current iteration from 1999 to present.

The Darnold will remember this when he goes undefeated.

... then there are those players who people usually consider busts, yet keep surviving, usually flying roster to roset - take Takk McKinley, for example... Drafted #26 in 2017, the guy never lived up to his 1st round billing wherever he went (20 sacks in 66 games), yet he's always managed to cling on to an NFL roster to this day...
@Soop_GamingАй бұрын
Feels like the Browns just don't care about off-field issues, which is what is constantly being their downfall. Maybe that's why they signed Watson.

Honestly not being Deshaun Watson sounds like a really really good quality
