Crazy 4 years ago Deshaun Watson was viewed as a Top 5 QB and was seen as Patrick Mahomes' biggest rival at the time. And he was such a likeable player because of his success at Clemson and his story about his childhood and mom's illness. Deshaun Watson should of been one of the faces of the NFL. But he ruined his image and reputation over incidents off the field that has now ruin his play on the field. Deshaun Watson is a prime example of the saying "It take years to build a reputation and five minutes to destroy it".

Watson might go down as the biggest 'what if' in NFL history 😳 Led the league in passing with Houston, then everything fell apart both on and off the field. Browns really mortgaged their future thinking they were getting the next Mahomes, now looking like the most expensive mistake in sports 📉 This story isn't even about football anymore, it's about how fast a superstar career can derail 💭 Makes you wonder if he'll ever get back to that 2020 form or if that chapter is closed for good 🤔

I was one of those people that still believed in Watson even after he struggled in that 2022 season and I'm not a brown/texans fan. It's still unfathomable how a QB who was once on par with Mahomes in age & skill, has become on par with a QB like Ryan Leaf in a matter of years while in their 20s. Sitting out for as long as he did before serving that 11 game suspension definitely didn't help but even two years later, he hasn't even looked like close to his old self. I think all those lawsuits can't be the sole reason honestly Not sure if & how the Browns will get out of this situation but I still think a fresh start on a different team could be what he needs for the old Deshaun to come back

I dont think you will find any fully guaranteed NFL contracts anytime soon. What motivation does this guy have when no matter what, he will still make 100% of his contract. His contract is so big, they cant even release him, so they are stuck paying him no matter what. It gives him ALL the power. All they can do is ask him to chop up the contract and extend it out to make the hit less, turn some into a bonus. Its also probably hard mentally all the civil lawsuits, probably not financially since he has the money to pay them all off. But yeah when you are in a position of getting paid no matter what, its easy to fall off the wagon and just not try.
