Fallout 3's graphics were really put on display when you exit Vault 101. It was one thing to see the tiny vault interior, but seeing the wasteland for the first time really sold the graphical power of the time.

I replayed FC2 recently and it added a level of intensity and anxiety I never knew could exist in a shooter game. I have played hundreds of shooters at this point and yet playing FC2 got my heart going. There is moments and mechanics in the game I had a strong distaste towards, like driving 30m away from an outpost and going back and all the enemies are back already, but it is a solid good game. I would love a graphical rework of that game.

Metal Gear Solid 2 to 3. MGS 2 was a looker and still looks great to this day. 3 however really took things up a lot of levels. I don’t know Kojima and his team was able to push the PS2 beyond its limits and still have a fully functional game is beyond me. The amount of detail in the game is staggering. I remember being absolutely blown away when I saw that the grass was actually modeled and textured. It wasn’t that terrible pixelated 2D grass a lot of games used during that time. Kojima and Team were technical wizards when it came to the PS2.

I still remember play M64 for the first time at a store that had imported the N64 before it was available in the US. And their setting universe were also different gow 1,2,3 were based on Greek mythology were as the last god of war was more or less based on Norse mythology, but for graphic comparison it does not matter. Also between gow3 and gow , gow ascension was also released whose graphics were really impressive...

Battlefield 3 simply made a big jump because DICE went and made Bad Company on a new engine (Frostbite 1.0), Bad Company 2 on an improved engine (Frostbite 1.5) and only put the 3 in the title for the third installment of that engine (Frostbite 2.0). Breath of Fire 4 to Breath of Fire 5 Dragon Quarter. Most people hate on it for its jump to a vastly different gameplay style and tone but that sold me on it and made me push through the difficult gameplay to the ending cutscene. If it had come out during the Dark Souls Era, people would have liked it. Oh well, this game doesn't get nearly as much love as it should so I'm saying it here. Dragon Quarter is an amazing game and a hard but rewarding RPG.

Gears of War 2 to Gears of War 3. You could say Gears 1 to 2 is a significant jump too, but the two don't look dramatically different even when compared side to side. Arguably the improved lighting in Gears 3 is what made it look significantly better than Gears 2

I'll be honest,that moment after you step out of the vault in Fallout 3,i admit it is one of my most memorable moments,first of all i was playing F3 on a PC which wasn't rlly top notch,so i wasn't really sure how good it would of performed once i was outside,or how it would of looked,but damn the moment i stepped out and saw that blurry white screen for a few seconds and then the whole collapsed world,and seeing that my crappy PC actually ran it quite well,it was both proudness cuz my crappy PC was good enough to run it but also amazement for how good that thing actually looked,plus i am a radioactive apocalypse freak and a zombie apocalypse freak and well Fallout is pretty much down right my alley =)))) Also Battlefield 2,good old Battlefield 2,which to be fair with all the settings and resolutions maxed out it would still look decent even today in 2019,only i know how many times i completed those capture the flag campaigns,btw Oblivion really was a huge step over Morrowing,i mean ragdoll physics which at that time weren't really "the thing" in gaming cuz let's face it not many systems could run them,since games were made for the current gaming systems and PCs for that time and not for the future generation gaming systems and PCs most games held back from developing stuff that was unuseable on most PCs and gaming systems like performance heavy ragdoll physics and lighting effects aswel as shadows and such,Oblivion was one of those which pushed the limit and used lighting engines and shinyness on objects and more realistic water textures than the ones up to that point aswel as constantly rendered vegetation and forests plus the ragdoll physics system which let's face it all of those things together requires a little performance,performance which for that time wasn't really a luxury everyone could have,but yeah it was a huge step over the previous title in its series,and judging by the sales a good step too,Skyrim aswel,tho Bethesda f-ed up with Fallout 76 and i till look forward to the day they will ruin the TES franchise with a TES 76 =)))))),now i know there is the TES Online but that is one thing and Fallout 76 is another,and sooner or later they will do to TES what they did to Fallout,why? cuz hungry for money that's why
