If you're worried about your gecko dropping it's tail, remember: the gecko doesn't want to drop it either! All the fat and nutrients stored in there would be what keeps it from starving in the wild.

Happy to report that our Leo, we got 6/4/2023, is thriving! He was 6 grams 2 weeks after we got him. Weighed him today in a glass storage container and he is 26 grams and is a he! Named him Oscar from the get go. So love him! 26 grams doesn’t include the glass.

Thank you so much for the information! I just got a leo a week or so ago and tbh I knew more about Corn snakes and Gargoyle geckos but a family friend was moving and couldn’t take him with her. You channel is definitely helping me take care of him! His name is Zink and he is around 2 1/2 yrs old and is a Mack Snow. Your channel is just helping me learn more about his species and how to take care of him. And I definitely needed the substrate advice!Right now he is on paper towels because his previous owner didn’t have any actual substrate at the time and she didn’t exactly tell me what she had been using,and Google/most of social media weren’t helping me decide. (I already knew some about leopard geckos due to my best friend having one but didn’t know a whole ton) But this and a few other videos are definitely helping my confidence and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to learn more and keep him happy.

Got my gecko a year ago, when he was 2 months and about 25 grams. Now he is 1 years old and roughly 70 grams recently moved him to a 20 gallon he looks happy😊

Any advice.....I have had mine 10 years, and he is big ...and a good eater, the last few years he won't be handled and bites like bites the leaves teeth marks blood and bruising..... His name is Pop-Tart but I really should have named him hulk

I've been enjoying caring for and spending time with Echo, my leopard gecko for down three years, so some of it was a useful reminder. Your older videos were an invaluable source of information prior to bringing her home and were a great resource for a new owner, one who never owned or spent time with a lizard before. I enjoy seeing the progress your geckos are making and, because I know how much yours appreciate the extra space, am seriously considering upgrading har from a 3-foot to a 4-foot vivarium.

I have been watching your channel for 3 years now and have finally decided to take the plunge and set up a vivarium for a Leopard Gecko. The Vivarium I have ordered is 4 x2 x 2 and I will go with Arcadia for the lights, however I was watching the vid where you were building a bioactive setup and discussing placement of heat lamp and UVB tube. I looked on Arcadia's lighting guide and they suggest a 7% UVB should be between 10-15" from basking site and you suggested 12" along with the heat lamp so my question is could I have the heat lamp at 12" and the UVB at say 13-14" this would make it easier for me but if you think 12" would be better then I am sure I can work out how to do it.

The advice is quite similar, but I guess I could answer more specific crestie questions, my only problem is I've only ever had them 6 months or above, I've never had to deal with a tiny baby 🙈 So i can't give much advice in that department.

I'm quite worried about mine, I got him last week and I don't think he's eaten anything. his previous owners fed him by leaving some mealworms in a bowl and he would pick at it over a few days (he's a year and a half). I'm not sure what to do - and because I'm a new person he won't accept food from my hand or even if I've put the food near him. I am going to watch your entire channel lol. I'm a bit of an anxious pet owner.

Hi! Wonder if you could ease some of my anxiety? Our 7 year old leopard gecko is on a hunger strike for the last 2 weeks and yesterday her poop was yellow with a wee bit of mucous at one end. We adopted her end of August last year, so haven't had her for 1 year yet. Normally, she's a very good eater - haven't noticed hunger striking or mucous in poop before. Vet fees here are $300 a visit for a leo and I don't have that kind of money to spend right now... what else should I be looking for that could tell me if she's really unwell? We don't handle her too much - I have 4 young kids - so today when I tried to pick her up to see if her belly was hard or soft, she spooked and I've left her alone the rest of today.

Almost everything applies the same to cresties, they are just a little more nervous and very willing to jump around. Keep looking for more information, and you will see which parts many keepers agree on.

If it's very young, this is normal. It can be a little disheartening at first, but they do tend to chill out.

I've had my Leo for 8 years and she's happy and chunky haha. She did something recently though that I can't find any info on and was hoping you may know. She has a split on her tail like she was about to drop it but decided not to. It's like someone took scissors and partially cut at the seam. Idk how else to describe it. She's still eating, sleeping drinking etc and it doesn't seem to bother her but I'm just worried about it

Hopefully it should heal, if in doubt best to see a vet. However, what may also happen is another little tail forms - probably very rare, but I am sure i've seen a gecko grow another tail on the side after not fully dropping its tail.

I got anxious watching that Leo just chilling on one hand! I don’t feel confident standing with a gecko in hand. I always worry they’ll jump off, or that they can read my mind and see that I’m so worried they’ll jump - that they’ll actually jump… suffice to say, I’m always seated when handling our geckos.

Please help. I bought my leopard gecko from a repticon on June 18. Her tail was cute and chunky and she was eating ok for the first week. Then she started to lose weight. She eats some days others she wont. I had her in a glass tank when this started happening and I read they get stressed if I continue coming at her from above. I made her a new enclosure with a front opening. It has been almost a week now. But she hasnt eaten much at all since I moved her and she continues to lose weight. I had her poop checked for parasaites and it was negative. I dont know what to do to get her to eat and gain weight. She weighs less than 4 grams. I don't know if I should put her back in her glass tank or if that's going to stress her out more. She seems very lively when she's on my hand. I tried giving her emergency aid food ( powder) with a syringe and she shook her head became she didn't want it. I'm calling my vet tomorrow's but I could really use some advise. Thank you! 🙏

I took her to the vet once I noticed her tail shrunk and the vet assured me she's ok. But that was about 3 weeks ago and she is not growing.
