Even after the incredible depth of her portrayal of Rani Padmavati, Dipika has hardly been praised for her performance. Her performance was overshadowed by meaningless controversy over the justification of jauhar. Shahid was very dignified in the film but Ranveer and Dipika took their characters to unbelievable depths. Ranveer got his due credit. Dipika did not. On the contrary, she was media-shamed for doing a "regressive" role. Really sad.

Kangna would have been interesting in Padmavat but i still beleive none of the both actors fit the character physically. she was from Sri Lanka!!! why not cast a tamil actress?? with a more indian body... Plus Deepika was literally cringe in the film especially the questioning scene with pandit, Devi aa gayi thi behen p aankhe bahar aane wali thi. aur sri lanka se aake ghoomar to aise kiya ki jam jamantar se marwadi h..and you dont make Aditi Rao Hydari and Deepika stand in same frame and make Aditi say that Deepika is the Most beautiful woman in the world...Noo sir, is you blind?? Sigh i sound so bitter...but FILM HAD NO SOUL!! Also Ranveer singh's Character was on cocain and one dimentional, he knew no good, no human characters more than greed. It was visually pretty and thats all. Sanjay leela bhansali need to go back to his days when he didnt knew about VFX and historical stories.

Anandi Ganguly are you defending the character design? It would have been fine if he had some compassion and empathy for atleast something or someone. Would have been better.
