I haven't read a book in so long now due to lack of time/energy, but this made me remember that I actually bought "The Girls" before my last holiday but never had the time(as I said, lol) to read it. Need to find it! "In a cottage in the woods" also sounds right up my street. I LOVE anything creepy/scary, so definitely need to check that out.

Loved this video and it has given me some great suggestions for my next read. I just finished the book “the last Mrs Parish” which is worth a read if you like suspense thrillers. I LOVE that you’re doing this series! I’m a huge reader unlike everybody else in my life. I only had one friend that was a reader but I recently ended the toxic friendship. Although it was for the best, I miss getting recommended books and hearing about books. So, thank you. I love your descriptions of the books without spoilers. I also love how you touch on how they are written and the depth of the characters. I feel like that’s often overlooked in book reviews. Usually they just describe the plot and that simply isn’t enough! Ahaha! Thanks again!

I studied '1984' when I was in school and I thought it was so boring. I then bought it a year after and now I think it's one of my favourite reads, it's just amazingly well written and absorbs you into the world. The way the diary notes are incorporated just reveals so much without you even having to think about it; brilliant!

I studied The Handmaids Tale when studies English Lit in the IB - and I absolutely loved it, I ended up analysing the meaning of flowers in the novel, and it made it so much more interesting! Loveee hearing about people’s book favourites!x

Will definitely be adding some of these to my bookshelf. I’d recommend Final Girls if you love thrillers! Only Ever Yours by Louise O’Neill is a modern version of The Handmaid’s Tale and is amazing! Also, I really enjoyed The Widow by Fiona Barton. I think you’d enjoy all of those, based on your choices here 👍🏻 xx

LOVED this book-themed video! If it's something you're passionate about, PLEASE continue this series :) love hearing other people's recommendations! Really want to add some of these to my bookshelves (when I've read through all my unread ones...) - love the creepy, darker parts of literature in addition to fantasy/sci-fi! The Handmaid's Tale was also one I found hard to read at A-level, but loved afterwards - love all the symbolism, and the creepiness of how life could be should any views/beliefs be taken to the extreme. Definitely a good and somewhat surreal read to do during recent times! x

Sweet Little Lies sounds right up my street, adding it to my TBR list now! I had the same reaction to Everything Everything, but if you’re looking for something to watch late at night with some ice-cream (or on a plane, as I did) would recommend the film, it was very pretty to watch 😊

Finally the video I've been waiting for! I have not heard of any of these books but some sound like ones I want to add to my list. I'd already picked 18 to read in 2018 but a few might now get put off to next year. I just finished "A wolf called romeo" which took longer to read as my 13 year old dog passed away in my arms last month and it just hurt too much to continue read a book about a canine but I did finish it the other day. Thank you so much for finally doing this and I am getting at least three of your recommendations! I can't wait for the next list you put out!

Hi! I really loved this video and I actually have a recommendation for you, although I'm not sure if it's been published in English yet. It's the debut from the Belgian writer Lize Spit and it's called Het Smelt (which would translate into The Melting). It's also written in sort of a dual perspective so at one side you have the past of the main character and the other side is the present and in the end they both sort of come together because the main character has to go back to the town she grew up in. It's kind of a twisted story but it's very well written because you only really discover the problems she has towards the end. I really hope there's an English version for it already because based on what you talked about in this video it seems like the exact thing you would enjoy! x
