I know we all love flora mods, they bring some much needed atmosphere to the commonwealth, but there is actually a lore reason why the Commonwealth is so dead, compared to locations like, despite people's comments, Appalachia, and parts of New California according to the show. The area where the nuke struck during the Great War had severe soil liquefaction, which caused every part of the ground to behave as a liquid rather than solid as well as making the ground essentially absorb and cycle the radiation from the bombs, as the bombs in Fallout are said to be closer to dirty bombs rather than the high destructive yields we use in real life. The area is why radiation storms exist on the East Coast, and why areas like The Commonwealth are so dead, because being right next to one of the most irradiated places on the planet for 200 years, is unlikely to have significant life return. Enough lore though. I imagine most of us have our own headcanon's for our modded playthrough's that allow for divergence from the general lore reasons, that allow for certain mods to still be immersive.

THIS. I really wish more people were interested in making FO4 look more grim and brutal instead of a happy colorful "wasteland" that's full of life and flora. It just doesn't make lore sense or fit the aesthetic at all IMO I wish someone would revamp desparados to remove changes to the glowing sea and the desert flora or make a more desolate barren wastland

You know, I am a fan of the overgrown look personally--although I hate how when you use such mods and try to build settlements, you have the drawbacks of all that added grass and such poking through with a vengeance through all the floors unless you build high enough off the ground all the time (Ew!). However, I happened to come across your comment and suddenly things make a lot more sense that I never either knew or even considered. I didn't even know what on earth "soil liquefacation" even was until today, lol. So, although a fan of a more lush and overgrown aesthetic I may be, I think this time I'm going to do a new playthrough and keep that more desolate/dead look this time around! Pretty interesting bit of info there, thanks for sharing!

Nice! I also use another pine forest. I mix it with a little touch of green with vanilla leaves. It keeps some orange and vanilla color but with green grass. It looks amazing!!

Sim Settlements 2 is another settlement mod that is well worth checking out. You have to place plots, but the settlers do the building. It works well with Scrap Everything.

Nice selection of mods, the more foliage tree mods tend to take down fps, though on the other hand people find desert mods tend to increase fps probably because it works like an alternate insignificant object remover a bit. Also, is the modlist in the patreon still up-to-date?

I've been subscribed to and enjoying your Skyrim mod videos, and it is really great to see you also here in Fallout 4. The mods you have covered here are really good, and i can honestly say that it is giving me a strong urge to get back into building a new mod list for Fallout 4. With Bethesda threatening us with another update to Fallout 4 coming soon, I had better get to it quickly and then make sure that I set my game NOT to update!

I did try it , it’s very good not my style of tree though I prefer taller ones those are kind of medium, not saying it’s bad but not my style, I do wish I could get a standalone of what they do to the cities though

The redone CRP Overgrowth takes less FPS than anything else. I tried many mods and CRP is the best overall these days. Just make sure you follow the steps.

I have the same graphics card and my pc was a little under 2k I believe it was 1.8k. You can probably build a pc just as powerful for cheaper with enough research tho

I dont think you have a PC problem. I have your specs in a laptop (so arguably, a whole 1000 series lower) and i dont typically have the performance issues you were talking about. Im not overclocking either. Theres a few mods i chose to download and remove a lot of fog and buff performance. Either way, assuming your pc is working as intended, i think this is just fallout tbh. Your specs achieve excellent performance on games like Forza Horizon 5 and other intensive games.

It’s there, the mod uses assets from another game so it can’t be hosted on nexus, just type “car replacer” or try from: oynlen has:link in discord

I would highly recommend lowing shadow distance in the settings. At ultra shadow distance is over 10000, or you can download the shadow boost mod.

Many thanks indeed for sharing this, a most wonderful collection. It has taken me a little while to downgrade the recent update, as it is it seems to cause more issues, if you like mods, than it adds in terms of quality and functions. I have made it so the game, Steam edition, can no longer update, at least for now. The last one on your list "Living Settlements" has that been removed since you linked it...? If it has, do you have another choice..? Have you ever added a mod to the Sanctuary area, to make it buildable or expand...? Thanks again, great collection.

idk about those replacer mods though fallout is all about retrofuturism not modern looking stuff atleast for a majority of the things like the vehicles are a big part of the retro look of fallout as a whole i can understand if you just dont like that though thats fine in of itself. though going off the video this also looks like it replaces the vehicles that are still somewhat "intact" with destoryed new models which is just weird.

I will stay with my current build, i will not sacrifate my 600+ mods that i spent so much time making it work. Fallout 4 aged well, as a mod user i don't need an Next gen update. HD texture pack was a joke and the game doesn't need it. I understand that some people specialy on consoles need an update. Sad for Fallout London tho :( we were so close.

Even on my series x my game looks amazing now. As a console player this is my first moddes game. I use Nac x for lightning , escape from boston surroundings, extra enemies and extra modern weapons and is like a remake. And it holds 60fps with fps boost magic....the next gen patch wont look that good

Most of them SHOULD but Bethesda changed some file paths so some mods are a little messy, but Xbox people are fine, so 90% of mods should still work
