Sanctuary Hills looks like it does for lore reasons. It's a "new neighborhood" basically established by Vault Tech to populate the Vault with healthy upper middle class residents. It was likely built along side the vault specifically to attract the sorts of residents that ended up living there to provide subjects for the experiment the vault would undertake later on. It's why the homes are so modern compared to everywhere else. It's basically a social experiment on it's own, and was intended to be the "ideal neighborhood of the future". They wanted healthy upper middle class people who would be getting regular medical care and be in better health than the average poor or middle class worker to give the cryo-storage experiment the best chance of success. A lawyer living with her veteran husband is a good example of that sort of family.

@@chriss5821 It's heavily implied. It's also why the Vault Tec rep is repeatedly coming by, and the real reason why you were "pre selected". You're also suspiciously "on the list" before the Vault Tec guy even has a chance to turn in the paperwork, much less there being enough time to get it processed. Your other neighbors who were allowed in don't have any indication they were selected due to "their service". It's just a line the Valt Tec rep uses to convince you to sign up based on metadata Vault Tec has on you. The area is literally set up around easy access to the vault, much of the tech in the homes is related to Vault Tec and set up similar to how it is in other vaults. Why is there a foot bridge that leads to the vault? It's too small and not sturdy enough to be useful in its construction, and doesn't lead to anywhere else. It's fairly obvious if you pay attention to the environmental storytelling going on in the game around Sanctuary Hills in both the pre and post war areas.

I will say that the little footbridge looked old and could have been built to get to the top of the hill for a scenic view BEFORE the vault was put in. Everything else is pretty cool though. And that's what lore-friendly should be, retrofuturism i.e., what people in 50s think future looks like. Not realistic future nor the actual 50s. Although it was a gray area on the lore-friendly debate

They're actually based on the real-life Lustron houses, a "futuristic" prefab house made from enamelled metal that was designed in response to the post-WW2 housing boom, when the GI bill meants there were a lot of veterans and their families looking to build. They never really took off because enamelled metal is not actually that great an idea for building houses, but you can still find them out there today. Sanctuary Hills being made entirely of these houses implies that it's a new neighborhood built for returning veterans, which would explain why the whole neighborhood is "on the list" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lustron_house

@@caseyhall2320 I'm pretty sure that what Nexus went with was as much for Database Integrity as it was for Collections. Not to mention that this isn't something that Nexus just whipped up on a whim, but something they've been working towards since about 2018. Sure, had the mod authors actually understood all of that, perhaps they might have been able to find a mutually beneficial arrangement, but it seems they can't think past the apparent loss of control of their mods.

Use to donate to them alot but now they ca go f*** themselves if they wanna start removing their mods lol. Plus most of the mods for fallout 4 haven't been that great anyway. That might not be the fault of the modders. The game has a hard limit of two GB in comparison to skyrim's five. With all of the mods that players already deem to be essential to fixing FO4, this leaves quest mods in an awkward spot.

Saaaaaame. No matter how much I play FPS games on M&K, I can't seem to play good. But give me a controller and I'll be the freaking DOOM Slayer. Which is ironic, because DOOM is the only FPS that I can use M&K on and absolutely rip and tear with good accuracy and forethought. But trying it on anything else is just a death sentence for me 😓.

Disagree with the Sanctuary upgrade. The metal buildings are actually based on real world housing marketed to vets post WW2. I always got the impression that Sanctuary is a veteran community; note the number of flags you can find. Also, having a vet community to draw on for Vault 111 seems very much like Falloutm

17:08 one point you didn't bring up is that this mod also help with gameplay. When I play fps I usually play as a turtle. But when I do play a Rambo like character I still need a spot to patch myself up. It's hard to do that in an open field.

I would like to suggest making your vids more browsable: either add sections in the timeline (or is it called chapters?), or add timestamps to your vid description, or keep a kind of mod name label viewable as long as you talk about it. The Makeshift Shotgun mod is terrific for all the upgrades since it can be used from start to finish. It's a lot easier to carry that around compared to a Fat Man along with the heavy mini-nukes on a survival playthrough.

I don't know if this is common but I found 2 deathclaws duking it out under the overpass east of the Federal Ration Stockpile, near the train that is in the water. I don't know if it was a territory dispute or a show of strength, but one of them ran northeast. Didn't know Fallout 4 had those kinds of things.

It’d crash, the story was bogus, (especially that neck beard snail kissing shroud quest) the art direction was jank, Totally thought it lame. I just got a gaming PC. Literally last week Friday and have been addicted to Fallout ever since. Between work, summer, and that game my house is trashed and looks like Mass pike interchange Rn. Just wanted to say thanks. Combat Arms is an awesome mod, HOWEVER it is extremely unbalanced. At the start of the game you face raiders with AUGs, this weapon has more than 50 base damage, an AUTOMATIC weapon (a vanilla submachine gun has around 12). And every npc that has a gun from Combined Arms ALWAYS has 60 ammo for pistols and 120 for automatics. So, for the weapon damage you can edit at FO4Edit the damage for each weapon, however the ammo thing will have to be taken care by the mod author

Jpitner's stuff is just gone. I loved his bunkers and penthouses, but you cannot find them anywhere. I tried Bethnet and Lovers Lab. The Clean and Simple settlement mods are only now on Bethnet, and the author of Bright City Lights and Not Your Average Neon pulled his stuff too, I can't find those either.

so i cant get the modern weapons replacer mod to work for me, when i start a new game there is no 10mm pistol and the m9 is just not there, i can hunt around where its supposed to be and its kindof "there" but you cant see it on the table, you cant see it when you pick it up, and you cant shoot it... help please...

Best mod to download for fallout 4 a mod to make the story have more different endings and each faction quest line to have different endings as well and downloading lore friendly gun mods and fallout new Vegas styled hud and some dlc sized mods and a couple power armor mods and bam you turned fallout 4 into the game it should’ve been

the fairly newly released JSRS mod for fallout 4 probably wouldve fit here. Its a mod from Arma 3 and 2 that makes distant gunfire and bullet cracks amazing
