My why..... My grandfather died of a heart attack at the age of 59, and my dad at the age of 57. None of my grandparents made it to retirement age. When I reached the age of 50, at 425 pounds and extremely metabolically unhealthy, and getting less and less mobile, I knew that I had to make a drastic lifestyle change for both me, and my children. Fast forward 3.5 years keto, I have lost 250 pounds, my blood work is optimal, I have no physical limitations, and have boundless energy. I am now living the life that both I and my children deserve. My doctor recently told me that he wished his blood work looked as good as mine!

CHICKEN STRIPS 2 Lbs. chicken tenders 1 Cup Parmesan cheese 2 Tbsp parsley minced 1 Tbsp oregano 1 Tbsp Paprika 1 tsp Garlic powder 1 tsp salt ½ tsp pepper Pinch cayenne pepper ½ cup butter Preheat oven 350 degrees. Combine all dry ingredients. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Melt butter dip each tender in butter and roll in seasoning mixture. Place on baking sheet and bake for 20-30 mins. If they do not crisp can broil for a couple min. Baking on a rack will help them crisp better.

You're my kind of carnivore! Some podcasters are so restrictive I get discouraged just watching them. Ken Berry says to eat what you can afford, just keep it as clean as possible. I see you doing the same thing, and look how happy you are! 😊 I'd much rather be a little less clean with my diet, and happy. Who wants to eat healthy, yet be miserable? Not me. Thanks, Laura.

@@barnesrobena7also you will need MORE salt once you are low carb eating. sea salt, or redmans is a good one, or that himalayan pink salt, they have the minerals you need. otherwise you pee them all out - carbs you were having hold onto water. when the water goes, your salts you need go with it... so take more salt in. prevents feeling faint

I love your non-religious approach to carnivore. I don't think I can do this without spices as plain meat just gags me. I can leave the vegetables behind but some spice on the meat makes it all palatable and ensures continuance!

@@lisaheeter3810Idk who you have been following. But most carnivore KZbinrs always suggest you can always reintroduce dairy products, even few veggies & fruits depending on your situation. Most people started carnivore diet because of some autoimmune disease or some other diseases, that's why they r very strict. Most Carnivores never say you just gotta eat meat. You can always reintroduce other products depending on how your body reacts to it. Recipes of carnivore diets with spices & other things r not available because people r ignorant or unaware of different ways of cooking meat. Not because they are militant

Most carnivores r not religious. Those who r religious explicitly say their reason for being religious & militant is because of their health & disease & they can't tolerate any diary or vegetable. I so appreciate that you are REAL...and what I mean by that is that you eat cheese and sour cream and things like the occasional deli meat. I belong to a few carnivore FB groups and practically feel chastised for eating anything other that beef and salt. Not everyone can eat just beef and salt. I respect that some people are sensitive to spices and eggs, etc., but to see a "carnivore" with a range of foods really helps me.

Wow. I am so blown away and impressed and full of respect for you. You are the first..... literally the first keto KZbinr who cared enough about your family to make the lifestyle change a family affair. It's disgusting to watch a keto person show her grocery "haul" and three quarters of it is sugar and wheat foods "for my kids...teehee". Sooooooo I'm thinking. You buy healthy foods and cook healthy meals for yourself, but continue to knowingly feed actual poisons to your children...huh. wouldn't that be child abuse? I digress. I genuinely appreciate you including your family, and making their lives healthier and happier. I love your approach. I had been considering carnivore but was apprehensive. I found you and 3 videos in, you gave me the confidence to give it a go! 😊

I used to think like that too. I call my first child my ‘paleo baby’ because I was so strict during pregnancy and her first 3 yrs (I was doing paleo hardcore back then) - but then she went to kindergarten and school and birthday parties and although I desperately wanted her to eat what I thought was a perfect human diet, I finally recognised that she needed to feel like she belonged, and not letting her eat cake at a party was social torture. Unfortunately, that did turn into the proverbial ‘slippery slope’ and 7 years later there is bread and pasta and rubbish in the house. However, I don’t regret allowing them to feel ‘normal’. My intention now is to keep setting a good example, keep offering carnivore foods over rubbish (at least they are relieved I’m not suggesting veggies anymore 😂), keep talking about protein and fat, but I can’t force it. If you are a more authoritarian parent, perhaps you can manage to do a pantry sweep and insist on only carnivore foods in your house, but that can be a major battle and source of stress. If you want to see carnivore parents, watch Neisha (Dr Ken Berry’s wife) as one example.

Oh please she eats a crap ton of processed meat and salt. Kept weight off. Great. I will never believe this diet is healthy long term. All meat and salt seems will lead to hypertension, heart disease, stroke and colon cancer. Dad died of stroke and his diet was mostly meat and salt too. Ridiculous this diet is so praised. Just looks like a meat version of orthorexia. Even more ridiculous is to feed this diet to your kids.
@gathercreatelivewithleslie8340
@gathercreatelivewithleslie8340 Жыл бұрын
I agree in many ways. People want their kids to feel normal and socially accepted. Has anyone looked outside lately? Normal is getting pretty frickin scary. Why would you want our kids to go down the slope of disease and nutritional deficiencies? Normal for kids in all aspects of life kinda stinks, so... My kid does get some sad foods now and again, but the majority of what he actually eats every meal is carnivore. He does get some comments at school, but he is secure in how healthy it is and how unhealthy and overweight most of his classmates are. He retorts "who doesn't want to have steak and bacon"? So for those that have never heard it, you can't out run an unhealthy diet, it will catch up to you, kids also. The rate of diseases in kids has spiked enormously.

I’ve actually been loving the “French eggs” you can make in a muffin tin (I make mine in a silicone 6-muffin pan that fits in my air fryer). I put bacon in the bottom and let it lay over the top a bit to get extra crispy, then I crack an egg into each. Add a bit of heavy cream, some parm or any cheese, and seasonings. Air-fry at 350 for maybe 8-10 min depending on how you like your egg yolks. Sooooo simple, and they reheat well too. 🥚🥓🧀🥛
@YeshuaKingMessiah
@YeshuaKingMessiah Жыл бұрын
U stir them so they’re like an eggbite? Or they’re more a sunnyside egg? I watched a mom blessed with many and she did lots of sunnyside up eggs on a big greased baking sheet in the oven. Slid them in and didn’t mess with them again but to pull them out! I love dunking into my yolk - it’s when I most miss grains/bread/toast or even hash browns to dunk. I do meat dunks sometimes but I save my meat for 2nd meal as I need to break up my meals.

Take a lettuce leaf add your shrimp and sliced avocado, drizzle butter and lemon juice, sometimes I add a bit of parsley as well. Wrap it in the lettuce leaf’s. Same here. I've tried doing keto but there's too much grocery shopping and cooking for it. Carnivore does simplify things.

Good Stuff Laura! I wanted to share a recipe of something I have been makin'. I'm on an OMAD and STRICTLY carnivore with Monday all day fasting! It's a 3 day - "seafood casserole" kind of creation. Consists of a can of Albacore tuna in spring water, a can of sardines - wild caught in water and a vacuum packed large piece of wild caught alaskan salmon (coho or sockeye) from Trader Joes, all cooked on my outside covered grille. I put the salmon on a foil boat out on the covered grille and while its cookin' - about 12 minutes, I make a foil boat platter with about 24" of foil, folded long way in1/2 and then cup up the outer edge (about an inch) to make a boat. Then scoup in the tuna (after draining water) and the anchovies drained and break up it all and stir it up. After the salmon cooks (about 15 minutes) I scoup it into the mixture and break it all up and stir it in. Then I scoup it all into the foil boat and flatten it out and put a couple scoups of beef tallow (fat) on top for oil.Then back in to the grille for about 10 -15 more minutes. But I also take about 6 local free range raw eggs whipped in a bowl and pour it on top and kind of stir it in. In 10 minutes I have a 3 day casserole that I divide in three and last me for 3 meals (days)! It only comes to about $5 per day to eat! It's awesome!! (I really can't taste a fish taste after cooking - it's amazing and SUPER nutritious!)

Hi Laura I been following carnivore/keto/low carb for 7 weeks now. I have lost 4lbs and 1 percent body fat. My cognitive abilities improved. More energy. TSH is good 2.15 and my thyroid is still a bit low but improved. My vitamin D levels improved 5 points and I had one major insulin spike in 7 weeks. And that was because I consume to many carbs in one meal. Afterwards got back on track. I am starting to build muscle seeing small definitions in my arms and back. I am also ovulating now. Which stopped for two years being diagnosed with PCOS. The biggest issue for me is staying cognizant of meal planning and not letting myself get so hungry where I make a bad choice. On this diet if I eat carnivore/keto I am not hungry but I have to prepare when I am hungry. Appreciate you Laura.

For pork chops and diced cuts like these, specially loin cuts, I cook to 135 and remove to rest for 10-15 minutes. maximum tenderness and juicyness. Ribs and pork butts are about all I cook to or a hair above 190-200

I must admit I would have those steak chunks on a simple greens base and put blue cheese-sour cream sauce over all! I do it with leftover steak n eat the meat cold, just cut up into bits. Ofc now I rarely have leftover steak lol
