I was given blessed salt to bless my nieces with. They started looking into witchcraft so I blessed their rooms and prayed with them. Happily I can say their teenage interests went into another holier direction. Still praying that they decide to follow Christ.🙏

I have not used blessed salt before, but I've heard of it. I have a blessed bell (exorcised), blessed chalk (for the doorway), and, of course, holy water. Now I plan to have some salt blessed! I lived in an extremely creepy house with a dark history which I moved out of 5 years ago. We had a mass of deliverance offered by a priest to "clear things out." You can bet I made use of holy water, too! I'm a firm believer in these sacramentals.

I’ve been cooking with blessed salt and olive oil the last 2-3 years since I learned that I could just drop it off at my parish to have my priest bless it. I also drop off a gallon of drinking water every year and candles. These are great sacramentals.

Great video! The rubrics of both the Traditional Latin Mass and the Novus Ordo Mass encourage the priest to bless water and bless salt, mix the two together, then sprinkle the people with them. The sprinkling is traditionally referred to as the "asperges".

We have read that with holy water, the container has to be at least 51% holy water to be effective. With salt we have read various levels, so it might be best to ask your local priest.

@catholicmomanddaughter
@catholicmomanddaughter 3 ай бұрын
Hello- you can sprinkle a small amount in the corners of the room or along a window sill. We like this simple prayer to say while sprinkling it: “I seal this room [or home] in the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ our Savior, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

Sounds great but having too much salt in food might not help on the high blood pressure ? Also i was told a person must believe in the word of or lord for it to work , is this true ?
@catholicmomanddaughter
@catholicmomanddaughter 18 күн бұрын
Hello- you would definitely have to be judicious in your use of any salt if you have high blood pressure. Yes, the blessed salt is a symbol of our faith in God, and using it represents our trust in Him to help us. Without faith in God, using blessed salt (or any sacramental) would not be effective.

Could you back up your claim that it's okay to use in cooking with any evidence? Like any Church documents? I hear mixed opinions about using blessed salt in cooking, and I can't seem to find a reliable source with a reliable answer. Also, I've been to an airport that's allowed me to bring holy water! They had to pour it through a device first to check to make sure it was safe, and then I was free to travel with it! But I don't know if all airports allow that, so taking holy salt is a smart alternative!

Perhaps it’s a dumb question but won’t it attract bugs if I sprinkle let’s say on a rug?
@catholicmomanddaughter
@catholicmomanddaughter 3 ай бұрын
Hello- there are no dumb questions, so no worries :) Salt would most likely not attract bugs, but if left in large quantities it might damage the finish on wood, etc… so best to do a test area. But we don't generally worry about it since we sprinkle small amounts.

My rock salt or mixed iodized n rock salt is melting this is the Blessed sacramental exorcized salt.
@catholicmomanddaughter
@catholicmomanddaughter 27 күн бұрын
Hi, Catherine- can you tell us more about what is happening? If the salt is actually melting, we would suggest putting it outside on the grass so the water can run into the ground. Water that has been blessed can be poured onto the ground for the relief of the holy souls in purgatory, and any sacramental can be buried. We have never had rock salt blessed; we generally use table salt (or salt that can be consumed). However, any salt can be blessed (from what we have learned researching the topic). Hope that helps!

@@kaptainwarp We respectfully disagree. God often works in our lives through physical things such as water in baptism. Is the water magic, then, too? Here is one of many ways that salt was used in the Bible. 2 Kings 2:21: Then he (Elisha) went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. @catholicmomanddaughter
@catholicmomanddaughter 3 ай бұрын
Hello- blessed salt is a sacramental, an item meant to turn our hearts and minds to God. It is used in the Church in many ways, and it has a rich Biblical tradition. There is definitely no spellwork about it. God often chooses to use physical items to heal and protect us. For. example, Jesus used mud in the Bible to help cure a blind man, and water is used in baptism. Hope that helps you understand a little better :)
