I am 56 now, was raised and living in Northern Ireland when 10cc were topping the charts. I loved their music then and will as long as I am on this earth. This is a great acoustic version and many thanks to Graham and the lads for doing it.

Don't feel bad. I'm 45 and these guys were oldies to me too when I first "seriously" listened to it. Blew me away too, and that was long before this great acoustic version. Funny how you could write the lyrics to this whole thing on the back of one napkin and yet theyover some band's lyrics that could fill a book. Shame these guy's couldn't have spent a little more time on center stage. I see 2 things that tell me they were forgotten before their time. 1. This is great 2. They're still alive.

Omroep brabant blij! Muziek zoals dit is zeldzaam live zijn hun supergoed. Music like this is very rare in this day and age, listening to them live is fantastic. Too bad they don't make music like this anymore.
@marticus61lau Жыл бұрын
Very well done. To be clear though, there is but one original member of 10cc in this recording that being the fellow in the centre with the glasses. He was/is usually the bassist on the both live and on the original recording. Again, well done. Good that such a wonderful song is being performed. I play it on keys with a touch of vocal keyboard patch fading in where needed. Always brings a tear to my eye.

The two members here left Eric Stewart {singer} and Graham Gouldman {centre} are the two remaining original members of 10cc eric stewart wrote the lyrics originally and sang the song also, and the rest of the band created the amazing backing vocals which were revolutionary in 1975 they multi-tracked voices many many times over to get the sound of a choir singing in a cathedral, something that can be done easily via computer today,but back then it was non existant!! to make a sound like that, speaking from personal experience no one had ever heard a sound like that and the vocal harmonies flipped from left speaker to right speaker also ,something you dont here much today on digitally recorded music ie "Stereo" sound vocals or instruments ,alternating from left to right speaker , many many hours went into building up the backing vocals on tape and multi-tracking them, the gentleman far right whom i dont know joined 10cc in 1976 when the other two original members lol godley,and kevin creme left the band, this song still stands up well today and its one of the best british love songs ever written in my opinion, its a timeless beautifull, beautifull song, it went to number one in the u.k. less than a month after it was released as a single here on 31st May 1975, and then proberbly made number one the world over, everyone loves a really GOOD love song,!! and this is ONE,!

I'm recording a coverversion at the moment together with a friend of mine and we use a 24 track digital Alesis and a PC with Nuendo. Just believe me: it's NOT easier made on a computer! The automation comes in handy, but the soundscape analog tapes creates is *SO * much better than modern HD! You get all harmonic overtones you have to kill with a sweepfilter and the sound is *NOT* better than analog. It's just that top end analog gear is way too expensive. Nevertheless I guess we are the first two nutcases ever since 1975 trying to really reproduce that specific choir technique...sound is coming together, took us two weeks sofar!

I'm not in love So don't forget it It's just a silly phase I'm going through And just because I call you up Don't get me wrong, don't think you've got it made I'm not in love, no no, it's because.. I like to see you But then again That doesn't mean you mean that much to me So if I call you Don't make a fuss Don't tell your friends about the two of us I'm not in love, no no, it's because.. I keep your picture Upon the wall It hides a nasty stain that's lying there So don't you ask me To give it back I know you know it doesn't mean that much to me I'm not in love, no no, it's because.. Ooh you'll wait a long time for me Ooh you'll wait a long time Ooh you'll wait a long time for me Ooh you'll wait a long time I'm not in love So don't forget it It's just a silly phase I'm going through And just because I call you up Don't get me wrong, don't think you've got it made I'm not in love I'm not in love

Suuuuuper.
