Though my suggestion is expensive I could not live without my Apple Watch. I fell one time and was knocked out but my Apple Watch buzzed me awake and asked if I fell. I said yes, and it asked if I needed an ambulance. I said no. I fell just this year hurting my leg and once again my watch buzzed me and when asking if was hurt, I said yes and it called an ambulance. As a retiree, this is literally a life saver. Enjoyed your video(s) and have subscribed. Thank you!

I really enjoy your videos. We have five daughters. We came to the realization long ago that the parents of the bride do not have to pay for the entire wedding. That is archaic. All of our girls are independent women who have jobs that contribute to their families. In today's world, this should be a shared expense!

The night light you recommend is WRONG for a bedroom. You need a color temperature in the orange/red zone at night. The 5000 K is daylight and messes with your sleep/wake brain cycle. That's why "blue blocker" glasses for people using computers exist as their screens are daylight (i.e. above 4000K ) light also messing with your sleep/wake pattern. Should be used for TV's as well. That's also why LED light bulbs are available in "warm white" as well as "daylight".

Reasonable products for the general urban population. As an outdoorsman I have some of those bases covered and a couple others don't interest me. When using a book instead of my Kindle I read at night with my Petzl headlamp. It's a very useful tool for many applications. I carry a single wall titanium water bottle on hikes and around town. It's a bit more expensive, but is completely inert (non-reactive) and won't impart off flavors to water if kept clean. Single wall on the chance that I need to boil water on the trail for whatever need. Lastly, optics. This is one place that, regardless of improving technology, you get what you pay for. 12 power is usually too shaky for most people to see clear images unless you use a support. Many birders use 8x and some of us use 10x. I prefer 10x and have a walking stick designed to support binoculars. As a retirement gift to myself I invested considerably more in a pair of Swarovski optics. If my step kids don't take up birding I hope they get a good price for them when I'm gone.

This is such a helpful topic for anyone planning their retirement! I’m curious-what types of products are included in the list? Are they focused on health, leisure, or making everyday life easier? Also, how were these products chosen-are they based on affordability, practicality, or user reviews? It’d be great to hear more about how they can truly enhance retirement life!

Many good idea's! I've had a Thermos brand water container fo over 10 years which has a silicone mouthpiece that's easy to keep clean for use with an RO water purifier at the kitchen sink and ice maker. This does not replace a neutralizer, softener, or any other treatment equipment that might be needed for well water. A couple of years ago I sew someone in a KZbin video reheating their coffee in the microwave and explaining that he likes his coffee hotter than it will stay using a mug. I was doing the same thing until I discovered a Thermos brand Tumbler which is similar to the cold water container! I've been using that Tumbler everyday since! So glad to have found it! 🙂 I recently was told by the Cable company the they were no longer supporting Cable cards and could rent streaming boxes along with the TV charge! I decided to return the cards and bought Roku's which took a bit of adjusting to but glad that I did!

Perhaps it may interest you in researching and making a video about retired parents planning for their adult daughters weddings. I have read that it is not all that common for the brides parents to pay for everything. One wedding planner suggested the the bride and groom pay half and parents of bride and groom pay equal shares of the rest. FYI: When I got married 31 years ago, I payed for our wedding.

There is a very good reason for the bride's family to pay for a wedding. The odds are far better than even that the newlyweds will spend a disproportionate amount of time with the bride's parents, possibly very little with the groom's family. As a financial advisor, you should counsel all your clients not to pay for any wedding expenses except possibly the groom's dinner and a gift. The return on investment (tongue in cheek) is horrible.

Next video might be on cheap services that make retirement better, like two I pay for: 1. Yard service crew mows my 5,000 or so square feet of front lawn for $40 every two weeks. 2. Pedicure as I have a lot of difficulty crunching myself up and reaching my feet to do anything other than a hack job, also $40 every month or so. The lady also takes care of your feet/ankles, like scrubbing them better than you can, sanding callouses or little bumps or whatever you need, so that my socks are way easier to get on. I never knew pedicurists did that stuff. 3. etc.

I am in Bangkok right now, for 6 months, or so, with trips to Vietnam for Visa extensions. A TIP for travelers on getting money.... Use Western Union.. to send money from YOURSELF to you. From your checking to Western union anywhere. It takes MINUTES and is WAY CHEAPER than using ATMs.... because the banks have HIDDEN FEES and take a cut.

@MR-pr8tp
@MR-pr8tp Ай бұрын
I agree. But many readers are changing their methods for reading vs tablets and downloading. Just thought I would share this information regarding downloading books. Readers are discovering they are realistically leasing their book from Amazon, not purchasing. . Amazon has the right to edit the download, rescind the download though you feel as if you "purchased" it . Believe it is a 5 year lease that one has the downloaded book. When one buys a paperback, one now "owns" the book and can do what they want with it. Also, downloaded books have become more expensive than buying the paperback, because literally you are paying for a leased copy.. Amazon's Lease agreement: "Amazon's Conditions of Use state that they can terminate accounts, remove or edit content, and cancel orders. " I found all this interesting and am beginning to buy paperbacks again, and donating to my local library that is need of updated books. Or I can loan the book or resell it if I choose. Can't do this with a Kindle book. Interesting changes and just sharing.

First think of the coming of blackouts (& weather ones) no wifi etc, books to read with light with battery or outside or get in a vehicle to go outside of blackouts area and have to spend money. Next loss of electricity and wifi due to way world in going books especially reference types will be the knowledge we'll need. Old geezers prefer books usually. Electronic books as another covered many companies are able to say u don't own anything and u will be happy!
