My favorite thing that I got for my preps was over a year ago. The best thing I ever brought. A freeze Dryer. I’ve been making my own MRE’s and other stuff. I’ve been trying the meals out on my family. So far they love everything, especially my home made hamburger helper. With a freeze dryer you can’t freeze dry fat or something with a lot of oil on it. No bacon or anything deep fried. It’s a learning curve, but once you know what you’re doing, it’s amazing. I actually run out of space to store my totes with all my freeze dried food. 😂 I have over 10 different meals and I have over 100 meals of each. Hey you just never know 🤷‍♂️ Tip: #2 you better like cooking. Because if your doing MRE’s, that’s are your going to be doing. If you decide to get one. The biggest tip I can give you so you won’t have to waste your time, money and effort. To find out later all your stuff went bad. Trust me on this, don’t trust the machine to tell you it’s done and dried. Weigh your trays. I run everything for over 36 to over 40 hours. Practically 3 days of drying and I prep freeze too to shorten the machine running. If I didn’t pre-freeze in my freezer, it will be running for over 60 hours.. I learned from people that’s been doing it for years. you can rush the process. Be Ready & Stay Safe

You are 100% right. Mine is old, so it is all timed...you cannot get too dry. If doing meals you get your choice and dietary restrictions reflected. If buying freeze dried the cost is quickly recovered.
