I’m 66 and I love mine. It’s very similar, but lighter fabric (I’m in the South, so heavy is out of the question) and a bit smoother so it’s a tad less casual. It’s just so perfect for most days. And my favorite feature is the inside drawstring waist. Over lighter weight shirts I can cinch it in for some shape or I can ease it a bit for over a sweater in winter.

I had never heard of the Ribcage Jeans...I really like them, and I have many pairs of jeans! Anyway, I can’t afford to pay over $100+ for a pair. So! I took an old pair of straight leg Calvins, measured, then cut them off at the right length to be my new ankle jeans! You could buy jeans in thrift stores as I do, and have a whole wardrobe of “ribcage” jeans! 👍

I think what is essential depends on your age, your body shape and your individual style. I would wear the military jacket at age 68, because they suit me and I have dark green eyes, but the tote looks a bit old fashioned to me, seen too many times. I look like a man in a white shirt, and as for white jeans, they look tacky on me. I also dislike torn jeans, as someone old enough to have known people so poor they had no choice but to wear torn things - why would you choose to wear them, a bit of an insult really?! I generally agree that some things are classic, but disagree that they we all need them, we are much more individual than that.
