When Howard says where his bunker is, Michelle says she was heading north of there. Then Howard replies with, he was going back to his bunker when he saw her. So, they were going in the opposite direction. Michelle to the north, and Howard to the south to his bunker. But later Michelle has a flashback of Howard's car hitting hers from BEHIND. And the red paintmarks were on the right side of his car. Yet Howard still says he was rushing back to his bunker (south) after he had learned of the attack. For all intents and purposes, Howard followed Michelle and took her back to his bunker or lied about their location. I realized this after her flashback. Why didn't she?

**Spoiler I Think the ending would have been better if we didn't have that alien fight scene. Here is the best ending. She escapes the bunker. She finds no aliens. She see's that she doesn't need the mask. She believes that the guy was just a crazy person. Then she starts driving away from the farm. Then she turns on the radio and its the same message. She realizes he was right. Then she drives towards the city. ( I would take away the scene that involved the girl outside the bunker, to add to the mystery)

It also would've been cool to show her driving in the city and slowly revealing the destruction and dead bodies. It could've ended with her getting out of the car and looking in front of her then the camera goes to reveal a dead/bigger version of the cloverfield monster. We could've then put everything together and realize that there was a nuclear attack and the radiation was the reason for the woman's burned skin.

I'm a very paranoid person, so when he was making the analogy for the LOST thing and the noise rang out, I LEGIT THOUGHT THE EVENTS OF CLOVERFIELD WERE TAKING PLACE, NO LIE. I got so scared, but other than that, I REALLY enjoyed this movie. Methodical movies are soooo good and I love that it leaves an impression on you as you leave the theatre. well from my point of view most of the people got howard wrong..he was definately a depressed man trying to have a daddy daughter relationship with michelle which was wrong to a sense but the real bad guy was emmet here, heres the fact how: 1.Remember emmitt had a big role in constructing the bunker. 2.howard told the truth from the start even though he lied about michelle accident but he later admitted it. 3. He never wanted to be sexual with her as you can notice in that game they were playing where the answer was LITTLE WOMAN..Howard said girl and princess. Most of the people takes him as a pervert of somekind but he just wanted to treat her as her daughter. 4.Emitt told michelle that the photo in the girl was britanny who was kidnapped 2 yrs ago..You really think howard would give michelle her picture as it was obvious emmitt was gonna see it..i believe the picture was really of her daughter and howard was again telling the truth. Note the in the 2 photo the girl didint looked frighted and it was taken by a third person which was probably the mother. 5.The most clearcut indication of howard being innocent and emitt being the villain is the air purifier scene: a.Firstly emmitt wanted to go instead of michelle even though he had a broken arm. b.When michelle entered the room and saw the help sign the door was locked from inside. Which obviously means howard cannot be the one inside as he clearly cannot escape through the vents.Again remember emmitt helped build the bunker and showed keen interest in not allowing michelle to go inside..Maybe he killed britany and kept her in that air scene area So what i interpret that even though howard was fucked up guy, he somehow knew that the attack was gonna happen(as everything he said came true) and saw this as an oppurtunity to help both himself by treating michelle as his daughter and michelle by saving her life. *The thing i didnt understand was the earing how it got there..did emmitt planted all this from the beginning so as to turn michelle against howard ? but one thing is sure howard is innocent

Here's my theory: the only constant in the Cloververse seems to be Tagruato. What if Tagruato has found a way to access the multiverse, using this portal (or whatever you want to call it) to travel to different dimensions and create doomsday scenarios on different incarnations of Earth. So i rewatched Cloverfield prior to watching 10CL and had the satellite pointed out to me by someone on KZbin. Now i didn't do the research of all the ARGs to know that it is in fact a satellite so my mind pieced together that the thing the fell into the ocean in the first movie was a probe (carrying Clovy) sent by the aliens in the second movie thus started this giant war. I like this way better than what anyone else has said lol.

Timeline(took some info from other person): so wayback when aliens planted eggs or something on earth which hibernated for millions of years then in super 8 the aliens come down looking for clovey but gets captured and then it escapes, but it couldn’t find clovey so it thinks humans killed it so then a few years later ten cloverfield lane where the alien brought more friends to get revenge on the humans, but the aliens didn’t realize that they accidentally had gone in another dimension so no clovey

The movie's main theme certainly wasn't about domestic violence...that may have been one of the many themes which you could have seen throughout the film, but the theme is is the tag line. Monsters come in different forms. It shows that even though giant monsters are parading around that country that there's a true monster within some people.

I still think that the creators knew that this film wouldn't have done as well if it had been launched as an independent movie with no ties to the original Cloverfield, like Super 8. It was an 'OK' movie. I actually think the original script was better. The ending of 10 Cloverfield Lane felt rushed and anticlimactic. I'm beginning to see J.J. Abrams as more of a slightly smarter version of Michael Bay, only capable of cashing in on movies that create a lot of hype, but the movies themselves (with the exception of Cloverfield, perhaps) is not that great. I do agree that apart from the single-character-POV, viral marketing and ARG stuff, there is really nothing that ties these films together. It's as if Need for Speed was marketed as a "spiritual successor" of Speed Racer simply because there's racing and fast cars in it. It's not a good sign when the whole "behind-the-scenes" content is much more entertaining than the actual product. But I guess that's just me...

I have actually come by the theory that in the movie Earth was being used as a nursery for a big alien, the slusho ingredient was supposed to keep it placated, apparently it had the effect of making people happy, but too concentrated made that one girl crazy and she might not have only been passed out. The baby was woken up and was going on a rampage, and the thing that fell was an attempt of alien nannies to calm it down, it did not work and rampaged through the city. When humans killed the baby the aliens then went into pest extermination mode to get rid of humans from killing any more babies.

That doesn't make sense since the radio told people to go north if they were survivors so if they wanted to trick people wouldn't they be there? It's kinda obvious it's gonna be aliens there because they said that people needed medical and military kind of help so there is war going on there, she wanted to fight the aliens which is why she turned left. That's my observation though, watched it like 4 hours ago at the cinema, it was great. I was so thrilled through the whole movie!
