Video idea suggestion “10 European clubs with shady owners”
@ammarch13193 жыл бұрын
KROENKE NO.1
@1258-Eckhart3 жыл бұрын
Definition of "shady owner": One who places RETURN ON INVESTMENT at a higher priority than SPORTING SUCCESS. Also, those two cannot be juggled (one year this, t'other that). You either consistently go for the burn or consistently milk the place dry. Both juggling and milking are acts of shadiness.
@kentgrady92263 жыл бұрын
@@1258-Eckhart I can simplify the definition of "shady". Would you feel comfortable about extending an invitation to a dinner party, which you are hosting in your home, to a given person? If the answer is "no", the person in question is shady. By that definition, there isn't a team or club owner in the entire sporting world who isn't shady. Given that they are all Russian kleptocrats, Arab oil sheikhs, and American robber barons, I feel comfortable with my assessment. The owner's suites in every sporting venue in the Western world look like casting calls for villains in the next John Wick film.
@1258-Eckhart3 жыл бұрын
@@kentgrady9226 Definitions should try to avoid subjective affectation and pin evaluations to objective measures such as sporting success tables, $ return on investment reports.
@kentgrady92263 жыл бұрын
@@1258-Eckhart Under normal circumstances, I agree. I like clean, clear objectivity. It makes things simple and removes the possibility of miscommunication. Words like "shady" and "sleazy" are, however, subjective by nature. But, I'll bite and try to apply some concrete data points - or at least specific conditions - which might render one "shady". If one has been caught in the act of receiving sexual favors of a prostitute and subsequently uses wealth and influence to kill the story in the media and avoid even a trivial citation from local justice, one is shady. If one amassed one's fortune by hijacking state-owned natural resources, and subsequently selling those resources back to the state, one is shady. If one must seek shelters abroad for one's wealth in order to shield it from taxation or creditors at home, one is shady. If one keeps company (for purposes of business, or otherwise) with anyone whose name might plausibly be associated with the Pandora File, one is shady. Shadiness, like art and pornography, is sometimes difficult to define in clear terms, but only a fool fails to recognize it when he sees it.

The narrative that Ronaldo was carrying Juventus is hilarious. He was holding us back and that is the truth. Our point total got worse every season compared to the 7 previous title wins, we got worse in UCL, and we didn’t play as a team. They see his goal tally from penalties and tap ins and they forget that he destroyed Dybala and the team flow. People are willing to admit it with United but they still can’t acknowledge it with Juventus. We are far better off without him and we are growing as opposed to declining; just wait

They never spoke about Ronaldo carrying Juventus in this video. Juventus are improving this season as a team but they’ve still declined over the past 2-3 years regardless whether they’ve been carried by Ronaldo or not. Juventus being the the sole owner of the Allianz Stadium provides a big advantage over the other teams, as they don't have to share its revenue with the City Council, only Sassuolo and Atalanta own their stadiums aswell. First things first, Southampton have a lot more squad depth than a lot of teams this year so thin squad my ass. Secondly Southampton look much stronger defensively and replaced an aging and injury prone (albeit good) striker and got in two young strikers (Armstrong and Broja) who combined could easily match Ings effort last season and that's not forgetting contributions from Che Adams, the current owner has been trying to sell off Southampton to a good suitor because his country does not allow him to invest and finally Southampton is financially in a strong position overall (due in part to their lack of spending and going for moneyball signings at bargain prices). In other words they have a strong future ahead of them and a good new owner coming in could see them take off.

How are Southampton in serious decline? I would say they're at the same level they've been for the last 20 years at least (average Premier league club/top championship club)
@glennaldosf3 жыл бұрын
Should Southampton be on this list? I mean, are they that big of a club and are they in that serious of a decline? I mean premiership survival - what else are they aiming for? Bolton, Derby, Celtic, Shalke / Hamburg are better examples...

Sunday vibes topic should be how to fix saint etienne, they awful and bottom of ligue 1 still without a win even though they have some young talent coming through

Yeah as an Arsenal fan, Arsenal still disappointing even when it comes to social media

Don't pretend they know enough about Saint Etienne to do that. It'd just be pato talking about a load of stats he's read an hour before the show pretending that he watches them play every week.

On field success is usually transient and cyclical. Juventus not winning the league after nine wins is not catastrophe. Real decline is financial structure decline. Given this it is clubs like Barcelona that are in real trouble. Club in most trouble? ...one that went bust only a decade ago. Glasgow rangers mark 2 aka sevco being kept afloat by alleged dodgy finance and allegedly ostensibly illegal government loans.

I'm from Portugal but Tottenham on decline? to be on decline first you need to be on top, I don't remember in my life Tottenham ever being a successful club, I remember in my young days Newcastle and arsenal were good, then Chelsea and city came along but I don't remember Tottenham at all

Spurs downfall was bc of Levy and Enic. They're not into football. They just was money from their fan. Not interested in big signings and title contender manager.

Tottenham with some quality singings should be ok. They need a good partner for Romero or Sanchez cuz for me they are the best cb,and a sub for Kane. Available and good transfers are for me: Lenglet from Barcelona, Medina (sub) from Lens and Silva from RB Leipzig.( i know he just transfered him but with a profit of 10 mil euro they will sell . 30,35 mil euro.).

Remarkable how badly run German clubs not named Bayern or RB Leipzig are
@joewhite44563 жыл бұрын
I don't even know if Bayern are that well run to be honest, the amount of dreadful players they've signed is laughable, it's fully possible they're just where every player who wants to win leagues and/or stay in their country goes if they want a step up.

Adam Armstrong and Southampton’s form will return once Newcastle United/We the people come out of slavery. Armstrong obviously mirroring Shearers career in the reverse. Norwich City/The Canaries also need watching as the Canary represents freedom so once they start winning then things are looking up for us all.
