All my life, I've just preferred being free and single. I just prefer a peaceful and quiet home. I have my work, my hobbies and family. I rarely chase women because although attracted to them, that alone doesn't override my need for freedom. I'm polite in the company of women but don't say much to them. They don't talk to me much.......but I'm told they talk about me, all good i hope! The drama, the expense, the arguments, the crying, the stress, the loss of spare time, the reduction of health and life expectancy......i don't want or need it. Maybe because I think ladies don't like me, I leave it too long. Also, a lady in the Philippines would message me via Facebook, and she was boring, like you describe in the video. 'Being hung up /going on about exes'. Tricky this - personally I've never spoken about exes unless the woman has directly asked me. Because my situation became toxic then damaging, many dating/relationship 'experts' advise the "It's complicated & I'm not sure or comfortable discussing it. This, in my experience has been seen by women as a red flag, or at least gives the impression of being shady. I try to take an honest yet measured approach about those disclosures - there's no need for teeth-grinding detail or constantly bad-mouthing your ex, but if you're open and honest, if they don't want to pursue it further then they're probably not for you.

1. Yeah, since the whole cell phone thing happened, people have descended into this abyss where they're not good communicators. You talk to them directly, or by voice, and you can see them wanting to use an emoji, because they're at such a loss as to how to say anything meaningful. I'd use a drool emoji here, but I'm in denial technology has had an effect on me. It's hard to find a text conversation with any substance at all. Alex, as you've described him, is destined to annoy women. 2. This is a narcissism thing, or a boredom thing. People try to recount what they've done in the day as a substitute for actual conversation about real things, because they've never actually thought about reality. They tend to be feelings based people. It's not what's going on, or what's real, but how they feel in a given moment. This leads them to BAF status. (boring as f**k). Conversations go something like this.... "I did this thing... and then this person did this thing... and I was OUTRAGED..." or "so I went to the bank, and there was this guy that held the door open for me and smiled... it felt SO GOOD!" It's not that you don't want to hear what's gone on in a person's day, but when they're limited to recounting events and how they felt about them... BAF. 3. People are used to exchanging validation as a currency. It's not so much about what's real to these people, but as they view everything as transactional, they get the crazy idea in their head that if they pay enough forward, it will be a debt in need of repaying. It's a way of them assuring themselves, because they're fishing for the reciprocation of validation, so they know the other person isn't at odds with them, and things are going smoothly. For women, where they're looking for a man of solidarity, or one that can be assured of himself independent of such validation... this is going to be the biggest red flag. We call these annoying men, "mommy's boys" and want nothing to do with them. it's disgusting. As a side note, this is somebody that wants the validation of those around him, and not the approval of his Creator. The binary nature I speak of relates to this. The person that seeks the validation of those around him, is acting in the capacity of a narcissist. 4. This is something else that's inline with narcissism. It's sadly one I struggle with myself. I'm entirely too impressed with myself sometimes (maybe more than sometimes), and I have to remind myself... I'm not all that and a bag of chips. While I'm working on myself diligently, I'm no closer to perfection than the next man, and I should let my achievements speak for themselves, rather than to blather on about them. I'm a good blatherer, and have been known to relentlessly blather to others. Very uncouth. I should be terribly ashamed of myself, yet I find myself inadequate in my level of personal shame as well. I have issues. Even if I was all that, and a bag of chips, something tells me I'd be lacking dip. I was once really good at Pac Man. Just sayin. 5. Yeah, nothing screams "excessive emotional baggage" like constantly bringing up exes. Sure, it's important to let a woman know where you've been... It's important to frame where you've been in the context of where you're going with the woman in front of you. Personal accountability is important here. We all make mistakes in relationships, or worse, choose to do the wrong thing. We're all a work in progress, and it's important for women to know you've learned from your past, and are taking those lessons forward with her. Strangely, it's important to remember to love the sinner and hate the sin here. It's to say, we need to separate a person's action from the person. The more you think about it in the midst of discussing such things, the more you'll realize how relevant this is. 6. Sure, but if you're in this situation, you're doing it wrong to begin with. Ultimately, you want a woman to pursue you. You lay out the bait, and then you see if she grabs it up. It's like dropping candy down for her where she's saying, "OOOO, piece of candy... OOOO, piece of candy.... OOOO, piece of candy..." The idea is to lead them on a rewarding trail, until they're under the box you've propped up with a stick, connected to a string. Once under the box... THAT'S when you pull the stick out, and you've got them. They'll NEVER go under the stick propped box if you try to convince them to do it. I call this the James Woods approach to catching a woman. 7. I'm glad you got that. Yep. Never give a woman certainty. She should always be looking to secure something she'll never securely have. Think of it as the hamster wheel approach to women's psychology, with a carrot on a stick to motivate them. That's not to say you shouldn't allow them to think they're making progress. Like, out of the blue one day.... "you know, you're really special to me..." (if it's true - never give false hope to anyone) And then don't throw down another piece of candy for a few weeks. Hot and cold isn't the way to do this.... You should be constantly warm, but never hot. Never where she thinks, "got him". The minute she thinks "got him", you might as well break up with her, because you ended the relationship. It's not a solid trail of candy, it's a piece here.... a piece there.... a box propped up with a stick. For the record, it's a very nice box with air holes poked in it. 8. Yeah, not much to say about this one, other than... if you're looking with the eyes at her physicality, you're not looking with the right set of eyes. 9. Yeah, those grand gestures make you look like a simp anyways. Not much to say about this either. 10. Future plans you should state up front. Where you're going in life is one of the first things you should put on the table. Make sure they want to be your +1, before you lead them into their own personal hell. Felt like writing. There seems to be a generational divide in women in this country on their comfort around men. Women born in the 80s & older seem very comfortable around men. I've even experienced married women shopping in the store I work at flirting with me in front of their husbands - not for real, but just to make me blush. On the other hand, the women of prime child-bearing age around me seem very timid, are very laconic, & just look at the floor mainly.

Your list is excellent top to bottom. Many of them seem so obvious but somewhere along the way I have failed about all of them. I think flirting by text should be very few and far between because it is just not as effective as voice. Your voice inflection is very important when flirting, particularly early in the relationship when she my be less familiar with your brand of humor and YOU don't know her sensitivities either. Just as a comedian makes the joke funnier with voices, inflection, and expressions, your best attempts to flirt by text are more likely to land like a lead balloon because she can't read your inflection and you can't see her sour face when she reads it so you can't clean it up afterwards either. #2 is critical and a very common mistake men make (I have). It will kill a yes. You want her for your mate, co-conspirator and confidant, not your fan club. It shows low game, a bit of self centeredness, and is having too much need to sell yourself, having too much currency in the approval. How foolish to miss her words when SHE may be trying to sell herself to you. Random example: She says to you while you are not mentally present that she loves horses but hates horse racing, thinks it's cruel. 5 minutes later you say, "hey, big horse race at the fairgrounds tomorrow, let's go"
