43 years old from Georgia, USA… only started watching EPL in ‘08… went all in with Newcastle in ‘09… funny, all I knew was I didn’t want anything to do with the Big 6, and commonly in the States at that time the Big 6 would be on the tube and often they were playing Newcastle… fell in love with SJP, the great kits, the passionate support, the history, and Newcastle reminds me of where I grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania (old coal mining town)… once I commit, there’s no turning back so was happy to stay put through relegation and some dark times… actually, the recent takeover was fantastic but went against why I started supporting the club to begin with… but there’s no changing it now… got Geordie blood in my veins to death… thx Eddie as always

I started supporting Newcastle in the mid 90's when I had a Geordie flatmate here in Brisbane, Australia. He would read me the Viz comics he got sent over and rave about Newcastle the place, and the team. I was hooked. Five year later I travelled the world and then ended up living in Newcastle for 3 or 4 years and learnt to understand Geordie :) Managed to get into St James for a few fantastic occasions. I even took it as far as marrying a local lass and eventually we moved to Brisbane and had a family. Just hit the button on AUD$11,000+ (ouch) plane tickets for the now four of us to spend Christmas '23 in Newcastle. It's been almost 6 years. My wife screamed so loud she scared the kids when the website showed booking complete. I think she's slightly looking forward to seeing her Dad and home :) We constantly look at houses on rightmove and dream about spending time there when the children are grown.

Mainly because of players like Alan Shearer, David Ginola, Fostino Asprilla, Philip Albert etc..the flair and aura NUFC had was really attractive to these foreign fans and they have continued supporting the club.

I have been a fan since late 90s when I was 8 or 9years old, that makes it around 25 years .I started playing football in 97 and my mother asked me to pick a training kit and I picked and Alan Shearer number 9 striped kit. As a foreigner myself “ 250 miles further north “ I see things on a match day that the majority of Toon fans won’t. While you’re all inside St James’ there’s literally hundreds of ticketless fans packing out the bars in the city centre. Pre covid we had 30 Dutch lads n lasses on our floor in the hotel taking in the match day atmosphere . 9 from Rep of Ireland and quite a few Japanese also. Being a club member for years usually guaranteed a ticket , if not we still came down . Changed days nowadays though , more chance of 6 numbers coming up on a Friday night draw 😢
