Plenty more untrue in this video than just that. Albania does not have the largest Muslim population in Europe, that is hands down Russia(if you dont count Turkey as a part of Europe). Skanderbeg's mom wasnt Serbian. There are two primary sources from that period, one refers to her as Albanian, the other triballian, which was more of a denonym than ethnonym. No source refers to her explicity as Serbian, nor did Skanderbeg ever refer to himself as such, even though he had no problem calling himself an Epirote, going as far to say he descended from Pyhrrus' men.

Serbs have a country and they should love it. This mean you should stop ridiculing yourself by using other nation's symbols, claiming other people's heroes and lands (which you have all lost and will never be given back, as they're not yours) and especially stop embarrassing yourselves by claiming to be natives to the Balkans. Migrants and raiders are not natives. You won land to have a state. Keep it, and live a dignified life.
@taulantiillyrian56196 жыл бұрын
I generally agree with what you're saying, but Scanderbeg is a symbol to us - and of course a person too. He was Serbian by any accounts of historians closer to his time. The later who claim this - some even from Albania, go figure! - have political motives. I don't blame this on the Serbian people though, and I care to say I have known a few of your nation that have made a great impression on me (a few as in I have only met a few Serbs, not that there are few good Serbs!). It is nice and good if you and any other people honour Scanderbeg for who and what he was, but not to claim him as a national hero of your own. I'm sure you have many of your own. This would be that horrible phrase the left uses, "cultural appropriation". I mean, I admire many historical figures, some from countries very close to Albania, but I don't think it would be right to say they're Albanian. I can admire them regardless. And yes, in the tense context of Balkan history, claiming lands, persons, historical events, etc. that are of another nation's can easily be seen as even more than theft and insult. Let's not be naive about it. It would have been a whole other issue if the region had gotten along well, but we never did. Thus, we, and you, will remain jealous opf what's ours. Regards!
@taulantiillyrian56196 жыл бұрын
@Znik Of course, and thank you too for your civility and politeness. It's not too frequent with us Balkan people to discus politely with one another. And that's such a shame, really, as I really hope we could all get along and have a friendly region. It would benefit all, but way too many conflicts. Plus, I blame it all on Turkey. Had they not invaded us all, I think we would have been able to sort things out among ourselves as true European people. Their presence made a mess of things and put nations against one another so as to better rule and control them. I am curious who the person you refer to in your comment, if you like to share. Also, I don't think Scanderbeg should be used as anti-Serb either. He had some skirmishes with the Serbian king, but not too serious or large-scale. His focus was against the Turks, obviously. I would say here though Serbia's stance was not firm against the Turks in Scanderbeg's times, but then again, neither was southern Albania. I guess none saw them as the risk they would, invaders for 500 years. However, now that the Turkish threat is gone, he is used by Albanians as a symbol if resistance in general. Regardless of our differing views on Kosovo, I think we can agree it is obvious why they may at times use his figure against Serbia. It may not be necessary though, as Kosovo already has many resistance heroes and leaders to make reference to. Scanderbeg can indeed be a symbol for peace, unity and shared pride and admiration. Thank you for a nice discussion and all the best to you!

@Znik My pleasure! And yes, Tesla was a great scientist, very underrated. I intend to do some more reading in him soon. @@taulantiillyrian5619 I guess this comment is kind of late, but what is your take on the Albanian-Illyrian relation? I see you have the word in your name. I've been told that Albanians are taught from young age that they are of illyrian descent (which is very likey). But wouldn't it be wrong to claim that Albanians are the "only/true" descendants of the Illyrians? I mean, you have Illyrian blood everywhere in the Balkans. Illyrians were described by Romans as "tall", which with all respect doesn't fit the reality of today's Albanian people, as much as it fits southern-slavs, who are among the talles on earth. Don't you think it's wrong to associate today's ethnic groups in Balkan with Illyrians, as Illyrian blood can be found in multiple enthic groups (both Albanian and Slavic)? I'm pretty sure Albania as a country percentage-wise has more Illyrian blood than can be found in any other country in Balkan. But say if Montenegro, Hercegovina and Dalmatia (places which had high Illryian population) united, would that still be the case? Do you see my point? Anyways, big thumbs up for the positivity! Greetings from Montenegro :)

Ok so let's start! 1st. The map showed at the start outdated and good ass quality 2nd. This is poorly made and just shows that Serbian ultranationalist trying to defame and suppress Albania and Albanian identity Ok so let's get into what you say. (Albania has the most bunkers in Europe) True, lol? (The antagonist of "Borat" was originally written to be Albanian) This is not stated anywhere and I can hardly see how this is supposed to be a crazy fact about Albania, I'm not mindblown (King Zog the only leader to return fire on an assassin) Oh wowwww, this has so much to with the Albanian people and the country! Again not relevant and certainly not mindblown (Albania is the poorest country in Europe (besides Moldova)) Then Albania isn't the poorest country in Europe, Moldova is? Besides Montenegro and Macedonia has a lower GDP than Albania so clarify what you mean by "poor" GDP, GDP per Capita? (The most famous pop singers in the west are Albanians) Partially true (Albania has the highest population of Muslims in Europe) True, although we can easily discuss if faith or national identity plays a bigger role in Albania, Albanians follow Albanianism (Albania was one of the last states to leave the Ottoman Empire) True (Pyramid scheme bankrupted Albania in 1997) True (Skanderbeg mother was half Serbian & he hated Muslims) Ok so this last one was a giant middle finger to everyone that knows anything about history, Yes Skanderbeg was a Christian Catholic and so was the Albanian Principality under Skanderbeg's reign although most Albanians were Orthodox at the time, they were resisting Ottoman Invasion as well there is a reason for the large Muslim population of Albania today. Skanderbeg did no despise Muslims he was against Ottoman Expansion into the Balkan regions and fled the Ottoman Army to fight for that region stability. If anyone is to blame for the Ottomans success in the Balkans it's the Serbian leadership, who refused Skanderbeg to go through their territory to link up with the Hungarian armies. If you conclude with looking into the channel and seeing the "amazing things about Serbs" you will understand, the picture includes Todays Kosovo which is out of Serbian jurisdiction and Republic of Srpska which is part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. If you're gonna be a Serbian nationalist that's fine with me idc lol, at least show that you're a nationalist instead of being a scum trying to brainwash people. Instead of having such low standards go out and say you're nationalist and that you fight for your nation at least then you would earn my and other people's respect. Serbians have always tried to picture Albanians as foreign invaders of the Balkans although Albanians are native to the Balkans when the Slavs migrated into the Balkans I don't hate any "normal" Serbian, but the Government of Serbia and it's aggressive expansionism and suppression of surrounding population such as denying that Bosnians are Bosnian but brainwashed Serbs, talk about morals. (P.S yes I'm an Albanian nationalist and I'll say it because I have standards

its funny how you dare to talk about stuff you dont have clue about, albanians are native maybe to caucass and nowhere else, claims about illyrian origin of albanians are riddiculuos and have no single historical evidenvce to proove it and are 150 years old at max, on the other hand serbs were called illyrians for hundred of years by other european countries and even ottomans, for example in austrohungarian empire, serbs were always classified as illyrians, unlike albanians. your claims are joke, anyone who merely knows history and starts looking for actual evidence knows that...you have your flag derived from skenderbegs family one, which was serbian family and you claim him as a national hero but still majority of you are muslims against wich he fought his whole life, you even cover his statue for religious ceremonies....so much about albanian national hero, you dont deserve to carry flag of such a man and family

Admin I thought you said interesting facts , lol I don't mind you being a patriot and extreme nacionalist but why the hatred 'brat' to the point where you are fabricating false information pertaining real info on the book of Gjon Muzaka. I'm going to attach(copy _paste) some interesting facts taken from international sources. Btw Vojsava was serbian and a beautiful one I bet, been to Beograd many times the girls are fantastic. Back in 9000 BC was an autonomous region, Illyria. Illyria had lands in modern-day Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo (Dardania), Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia as shown by Wikipedia... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illyrians Illyrians spoke the Pelasgian language which is still the only language branch left that is still spoken by the Albanians today. Not only do Albanians speak the same language as Illyrians did, but also have the same culture as Illyrians did. The only exception is religion, as you may know we have a Muslim majority, whereas Illyrians were Christian. 500 years ago, the Ottomans invaded the Balkans, including Albania. This invasion had a very strong impact on Albania today and I’ll explain why. The Ottomans wanted power and control in the Balkans and Italy to become an empire, although Albania and other Balkan countries fought back. Skanderbeg (Gjërgi Kastrioti) who was an Albanian military leader fought for Christianity along side with other Albanian soldiers. Albania was held captive under Ottoman occupation for 500 years, longer than any other country was and Albanians were forcefully converted to Islam meaning we did not get a choice of our religion. Even thoughout the Roman invasion, Byzantine invasion, Ottoman invasion and so many attacks, our language and culture still remain the same to this day which is incredible and has not been achieved by any other European country. This is why we are mostly Muslim. The Albanian-Caucasus theory has gone obsolete and been proven wrong for more than 30+ YEARS you ironic fuck. That’s the kind of thing I would expect from a Serbian anyway... 🤦♂️ Your out-dated theory’s will never change Ancient Albanian history and only proves how much you envy us for it. Now back onto the point... In Albanian, Illyria means “free like a star” and Albo meaning “white”. In Illyria were tribes named Albani and Albanoi mentioned by Ptolemy in 150 AD, which descend to the name “Albania” ORIGINS??? Albanians have no connections with any other ethnic group in DNA or blood either, their samples are unknown but relate closest to southern-Italians and Greeks which means they are from the same area as them. Albanian DNA is E-V13 also, which is the highest in the Balkan region and proves we are natives from 9000 BC! (The earth as we know it). Just like I said before, Alexander the Greats mother, Olympus was an Illyrian from Epirus. Well, Skanderbeg had a goat symbol on his helmet, a symbol borrowed from Pyrrhus of Epirus and Alexander the Greats legends, this shows Skanderbeg was Albanian anyway and shows that Albanians are still Illyrians and have not changed. Wikipedia also disagrees with you and states “Albanians have connections with pre-historic Balkan populations such as Illyrians” see it for yourself... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_the_Albanians It just about explains why Serbians have the lowest IQ in Europe... Oh yea, and this is only the beginning of my explanation, no worries 🤚 Albanians are Illyrians 🇦🇱whether you like it or not.😉 If Albanians weren’t Pelasgians, why is Albanian the only language left in the world still with Pelasgo-illyrian words? In fact, Bulgarians haven’t any connections with Ancient Pelasgian at all. Here are translations from Pelasgian/Illyrian to Albanian... Pelasgia - PELLG (the deep sea) Oania - Ania (the ship) A - a (is) Naie - Naje (for us) Liri - Liri (liberta) Te - të (to) Ire - ire (courage,fierezza) Zerh - zerin (voice) Efistho - e fisve,th,oh! (And to the kindred,ah,oh) Na - Na (us) Yynoriz - yjnoris (to the heavenly beings) Ni - në (in) There is a lot more words...😉 “Pelasgians also spoke a Barbaric language” Albanians are Barbarians, Bulgarians are not. (Wikipedia) Pelasgians were also called the “sea people” since they were skillful and free navigators that lived around the Mediterranean who called Illyria (Albania) their homeland, which meant “the country of the free” lir - Free. The roots of the word ”lir” can only be traced to Pelasgo-Illyrian (Liri), Etruscan (Liri) and Albanian (liri), no other languages in the world connect to the root of the world “lir” other than Albanian. Also in Western-Albania (state of Apollonia) was a Ancient Pelasgian temple of the III Century B.C with two words written on the temple which could only be translated to Albanian. Fimia - Fëmia (the child) Hiyneron - hyjnëron (is deified) After reading these illyric inscriptions Albanians are Ancient Pelasgians without a doubt.

I was astonished and people were very nice from the Dougane lady at the airport who checked my passport, taxi driver who found out I was albanian and said to me if you dont do something stupid you will be ok. Then during the interview we had to stand infront of the other candidates and speak of our experiences in English and ofcourse present ourself. After it was finished I went outside to have a smoke with a Macedonian guy named Darko and while chatting to him I hear behind me some comments of the sort mrzim shiptari, on e albanac something of that sort(btw i speak Bulgarian and understand a bit of Serbian through that) and looked around me there was a guy with his girlfriend who was trying to calm mhim down and looking at me with a lot of hatred. Yes, you are the oldest, all of you, claim this, Bulgaria, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia, Greeks already changed the books long time ago...so, yes, you are all the oldest but only as much as you have SERBIAN blood!

The last fact is very wrong. Skanderbeg had both albanian parents but serbians changed it parents name in 2021 in their own language. So it's fake. Skanderbeg was anti turk not anti Muslim. And it's not the poorest. Don't make videos when you don't know anything.

He was a Jannisary meaning he was raised as a muslim because he was kidnapped by turks and trained by them. He was originally orthodox though. And he was WITH the Italians! He loved Greece and his personal seal was a Byzantine eagle with greek writing and his signature was in Cyrillic.
