10 DaVinci Resolve Shortcuts to Speed Up Your Editing Process

Shift-Command [ or ] is the one I use a ton to ripple delete and 'Y' is a new one that I didn't know (thank you!) and will integrate, for sure. Another favourite is 'D' to disable selected clips, useful when you have a lot of tracks, and another one that I love is the Auto Track Selector toggle with Option + F keys! Add The Command (Ctrl) key to that combo to toggle audio tracks in the same way. Such a helpful collection of tips, thanks Alex.

Great tips. I am making closed captions for delivery platforms, what is your approach to this Alex?

The way to do this would be using a subtitle track and then formatting the text to suit the style and need for the delivery standard Close Captions and Open Captions are slightly different as you probably know. Then you can export them as a separate subtitle file from the Deliver page or you can choose to 'bake' them into the video. Does that help?

none of these is what i was after. when I learnt to use this program last year there was a button to play and start the trim and a button to stop it so you could cut bits out while just playing the video
