Although storm Ciara has been quite rough with some damage and disruption, it was nowhere near as bad as the three worst storms in my lifetime. The storms in question were January 2nd 1976, the famous Michael Fish storm of October 1987 and the burns day storm of 1990, all these storms contained gusts of wind over 100 mph. I wonder if we had weather warnings back then like we do now weather red alert warnings would have been given.

I remember when we were kids they taught us about the jet stream and how the trees were a natural wind break so why do they keep cutting trees down to make room for houses !? I can't remember all these storms when I was a kid . Humans have really made a mess of old Mother Earth ! Looks like she is fighting back but they aren't taking any notice .

This was a hurricane where I was, I was at the beach, it’s the worst place and well, branches and other things were flying, the sea got littered full of leaves and branches and twigs and stones, some full trees and 150 mph winds, soon it got up to 200 and it nearly sent my car in the sea but I got lucky and the car and me was ok, but then a microburst hit causing 220 mph winds which was very scary and trees were in the sea and even bricks and wires, I soon got a force of 243 mph winds at its max and I was in front of a sign so the car didn’t fly off, the wind gusts where at least 252 mph sending other things flying, I saw some cars that have crashed and some in the sea, then it went down to 150mph and then raging at 120 mph and then it went back up to 170 but then tomorrow it was gone, nothing really remained intact where I was, homes were flattened, it was the worst hurricane ever, if the category could go up to a 7 it would be a 7, I’m glad all of you are safe though!
