There is SO much going on in this game, no off-the-shelf stuff either, you can see the bespoke assets and animations everywhere. Packed with detail in every corner. What a labour of love! And the writing manages to pull off both the humour and serious stuff so easily, dialogue is so natural you can almost hear the laughter between takes. Honestly with a marketing budget and a full soundtrack, this would be competing with Silent Hill. There are worse games that are considered genre-defining. Gaming would look very different had this came out in the year it was set.

i enjoy the style design in this game, i just like that it did not tried to emulate the "old PS game". I get tired to see the low poly=low quality that games do sometimes instead of low resolution, here the low poly is part of the design like pixel art is for other games. Really enjoy the narrative, how the story develops got me really hooked

I was so excited for the full game when i saw the demo. The writing in this is "bad" in the same way the writing is "bad" in Dreamcatcher, the Stephen King adaptation, and I think for the same reasons. The bizarre phrasing and often "incorrect" delivery and occasional "unfunniness" is sucha hallmark of Stephen King's dialogue, and I really love it in this game. I don't think it's actually BAD, I think it sounds genuinely like a couple guys who have known each other so long they're barely speaking English anymore. Very much like Stephen King books or Kevin Smith buddy movies. It really hits something so specific, that's so hard to hit. The Siren-style face animation is also so good. I'm only about 1/4th of the way through and had to take a break because the relentless weirdness is taking all my focus and wearing me out, but in a good way if that makes sense. Bravo to the creators.

I played about an hour of this because it looked interesting but after spending some time with it I just feel like it’s incredibly pretentious and Le quirky. Nothing has hooked me in. It’s just two dudes walking around with bizzare non sequitor dialogue broken up with ~Whoah trippy man~ visuals.

I feel like the mystery, visuals, and/or plot are each too confusing for that to be interesting (I blame mascot horror for this), while each of the characters aren’t really likeable in any respect. Sure, good VA and all, but it all kind of fails when you ask the question, “Why should I care?”

@@azurielWAV I mean you don’t need likeable characters or a super conventional script for a good/interesting game but this one is just so pretentious and nothing makes me care about anything or these guys to find out the story. Also it doesn’t help that they don’t act or speak like real people. It feels like a game made by two guys who listen to neutral milk hotel, gifted burnout ect. who were told “you’re funny!” And they let a 5/10 girl ruin them. It’s the Scot pilgrim/millennial writing effect. If you want to make a quirky game with bizzare dialogue sure. But you need to work hard for the audience to stay involved either via gameplay, spectacle or story investment. This game doesn’t have any of these after 2 hours.

The creator(s) of this needed to take this back to the conceptual stage as it completely fails to commit to a tone. On the one hand it is trying to be comedic, then attempts to be surreal and then wants you to take it seriously so the player never really feels invested as it has lots happening but isn't doing anything interesting or foreshadowing anything worth your time.
