That last ending! Kid comes home covered in blood from summarily executing his neighbour (she'll walk it off, but still) for being 'deceptive' and Mom is absoloutely chill with it...

The spritework and death animations are great!! I love how fluid the movements are. I think the plot and writing are a bit all over the place though.. especially with how Bilo talks in the endings. There are some interesting concepts that I wish could be more fleshed out.

Man why couldn't ending 4 be the True End :/ I hate it when they make the most depressing ending the canon one for shock value. Still love the game, though. The little hug animation at the end is so cute.

Yeah, it's a great little game. I don't think the first ending is actually meant to be a true ending. I think it's the dev just having a little fun. :)

Probably a bit of a stupid question, but what do the "lives" in the top right even mean for the ending? It seems like it just depends on the ingredients and house choice?
@AlphaBetaGamer19 күн бұрын
Hi! The lives don't affect the ending, but each time you die the town gets darker. When you've died four times the eye opens and you start to get the little hints about how to get the "incorrect" ingredients.

This game looks like a reskin of a game called Carecrow or something like that. A kid can't come out at night, but disobeys his father, is roped in by a witch into running errands for her and dooming the town. It was also a game made in RPG Maker.
@AlphaBetaGamer19 күн бұрын
I really liked Crowscare. I'd say the similarites between the games are pretty superficial though. The only real similarity being that the kid is lured into doing something bad by a malevolent entity (a fairly common trope in folklore). Also, Crowscare focused on themes of child abuse while this is much more a kid and his mother dealing with the loss of the father.

I would not expect to see the words "heartfelt horror game". Horror by definition is not heartfelt. I'm just sayin 😉
@AlphaBetaGamer19 күн бұрын
Hi Gregory! I agree that the two words can sound contradictory, but I'd say horror and heartfelt storytelling aren't mutually exclusive. The same way that comedy and horror aren't mutually exclusive.
@friendformationbot19 күн бұрын
that isnt true, all the best horror is heartfelt. heartfelt doesnt mean "cozy" or "friendly", it means "sincere" or "earnest".
